Set in the beautiful, volcanic scarred high-desert of the Pacific Northwest, Days Gone is an open-world action-adventure game where you play as Deacon St. John, a Drifter and bounty hunter who would rather risk the dangers of the broken road than live in one of the "safe" wilderness encampments. The game takes place two years after a global pandemic has killed almost everyone, but transformed millions of others into what survivors call Freakers – mindless, feral creatures, more animal than human but very much alive and quickly evolving.

Deacon can be upgraded in multiple ways.
The first is through Nano Technology which you can use to boost either your Health, Stamina or Focus.
The second is through Skill Trees which are aimed at Melee, Ranged and Survival.
Each skill tree has 15 skills to unlock. (45 skills in total)

The bike is a very important part of the game.
You will need to re-fuel if gas is low or expires.
You will need to repair it if it breaks.
If lacking repair parts you either walk it back or go on foot.
Someone from camp can fetch it for you if lost.
Weather conditions will alter the handling.

Upgrade categories include:

Paint	Exhaust System	Engine
Frame	Fuel Tank	Tires
Suspension	Storage Space	Nitrous

Days Gone will feature infected and non-infected animals.
The animal types known so far include - Bears, Wolves, Cougars and Crows.

Marauders Vigilantes who are not above killing and looting to survive	Rippers A sadistic cult who believes freakers are the future

So far the game is quite decidedly average. Doesn't seem to do anything better than any game before it. With only 2 hours into the game I still need to play more but so far no real wow. The motorbike handles more like a truck than a bike

To be honest, what other games will get nominated this year besides Sekiro, DMCV, and RE2 Remake? I can see it being a GOTY nominee only in 2019. No way would it have been nominated last year and so forth.

We are in month 4 and none of the actual big hitters have announced any games for holidays yet, so likely there will be many games, you or I haven't heard of yet come up as GOTY games. At E3.

That's true....Rocksteady can release their game this year as well but I've always seen 2019 to be a bit more barebones compared to last year and such. It'll be interesting to see if Days Gone does end up being nominated. If it does, then you can thank Sony for influencing the nomination.

Nah, I still need a break from zombies setting and the game visually looks good to me but anything else it didn't hook me at all. I'm game sharing with my friend on PS4 so if he bought it I might try it out
