Ms. Galaxy's stories are like that kind of pulp fiction where writers keep churning out new Very Dramatic Event of the Week episodes to keep their userbase entertained, only to inevitably and unconsciously contradict past character development or world building the longer the fiction goes.

So far, Ms. Galaxy was a nazi that learned to behave on her younger days, but also an oppressed trans at school. She struggled because her mother wouldn't give her any support, but she loved her mother so much because she was the only one who would give her so much support. There's nothing like hearing about the inevitable climate change meltdown we're heading towards to bring out my despair. I think about it everyday. That we're not only unable to stop it but there are these fuckers out there who are actively making it worse. It makes me feel so sick and nauseous. I've been seeing a therapist to try to help me stop my suicidal urges over this but she can't really help me. We're actively staring down the end times and fuckfaces like trump are actively shitting on any effort to slow down our march toward death. I can't function anymore. I've stayed single for years so I can kill myself with less guilt on my conscious when I can't take it anymore.

Same. I don't think the people in charge of ResetEra fully understand the extent of the trolling that goes on over there.

On one hand the need for a paid email account (or at least in the early days an account they don't recognize as being "free") stops them from getting spammed by trolls but on the other hand it means they only get dedicated trolls who are willing to spend time and take care with the trolling.

Using identity politics against them for sure is a quick and easy method. Claim to be something that the group must respect while really you are just some white dude is pretty simple since they are not asking for proof of identity. Sure, I'll just mark my profile as "female", why not?

I am sure they will have their own little private groups that know each other personally but otherwise I'd say there is a lot of deep trolling going on over there.

Probably the same here too but at least here we can have arguments with each other and you aren't really able to goad other posters into getting themselves banned.

One thing I did notice though, on Reset is that if you change your password they will include the IP address that was used to change the password in the notification email. Is that normal? I always felt like it was a subtle warning or something. Same with the 1 day bans that they will dish out for minor things just feel like "hey you'd better keep it in line".

I can't prove it, but I'm certain there are a certain type of posters that basically "gamify" their own discussion board experience and try to bait people into getting banned. They themselves aren't discussing anything in good faith, but they will use that phrase and others from a pretty obvious playbook of similar tactics.

The most thoughtful and civil posters who elevated discussion. Ambassadors for the site, basically. The social justice cancer did a number on things here and a handful of bad apples did egregious damage, but most of the ex-mods were decent people and didn't abuse their power.
