Batman gets the best music

I was thinking about how Batman inspires some amazing work from composers be it for animation, film or games. Excluding the campy versions, I present the following:

Batman (1989)

Batman:TAS

Mask of the Phantasm

Batman Beyond

The Batman (2004)

Dark Knight Trilogy

Batman: Arkham City

Batman: The Dark Knight Returns

Batman: Arkham Knight

Batman: Telltale

Batman: Telltale S2

cool thing about this song is the "Batman" isn't sung, it is an audio illusion done by horn arrangement.

That would be awesome if true but sadly it's not. The song's writer Neal Hefti confirmed it as well. I think it was Adam West himself who started that rumour. =P

i did not know that! thank you for clearing this up. indeed this seems to be the case.
The eleven cries of "Batman!" are sung by a chorus of four tenors and four sopranos (performed by The Ron Hicklin Singers). A long-held myth purports that the chorus is actually a group of horns. Adam West's book Back to the Batcave also fuels this rumor by claiming the chorus is instrumental, not vocal. However, Neal Hefti, the writer of the theme, stated that the chorus was made up of eight singers, one of whom jokingly wrote on his part, "word and music by Neal Hefti".[1] TV's Biggest Hits by Jon Burlingame, published in 1996, focuses exclusively on TV theme songs, and includes an interview with Hefti about the creation of the Batman theme song. According to Burlingame, the song consisted of "bass guitar, low brass and percussion to create a driving rhythm, while an eight-voice chorus sings 'Batman!' in harmony with the trumpets."

still, amazing f'ing song.

The best Batman music came on Commodore 64.

How anyone hasn't done a heavy metal cover from that one beats me.

The BEST game over theme of all time.

And here's the full soundtrack of the later Batman game on C64:

I don't think it's as good music as in The Caped Crusader but it's still great and among the best on Commodore 64.

It's funny that you dismiss the 60s TV show song, when that's actually the most famous and widely covered by bands
Not dismissing it, as I wrote in OP just didn't want to place it here with all the moody music. That's why Brave and the Bold isn't here either.

SNES Batman Returns soundtrack is super dope. listen to this industrial speed metal for "Boss Battle". great cymbal sample here.

some soundcloud rapper must have sampled "Scene 1-1" by now.

good use of SNES samples. really captures the spooky Tim Burton vibes.
