You got tattoos?

My 2 cents from a distance I'm more of a tattoo fan now, some extraordinary artists out there.

No tattoos but I do think a lot of people getting them when they are young regret what they get tattooed on them, not generally the tattoo itself but the subject matter.
I know a lot of people with those type of regrets .

there are like 13 year olds with tattoos and they think they're gonna be the same forever

go ahead get your tats , so unique, only you only you chop your wiener off brah it's 2020

They're for attention whores and people who think they're special for having some little doodle or some dumb words plastered on them. Yeah, you're so cool for having Tommy Pickles from the Rugrats on your wrist.
I mean look at this retarded shit like jesus fucking CHRIST. Pewdiepie's are shit too.

A bit too fat for me honestly.

But okay

Nah.

Everyone knows it's not a good look if you're trying to get a corporate office job, or pursue any white-collar career, really. Everyone knows tattoos make you look unprofessional to a hiring manager / recruiter. My family is totally against tattoos as well, so my parents would think I'm crazy and stupid if I ever put ink on my body.

I think it's a great art-form, though. I've seen some amazing sleeves, but they are really expensive if you go to a legit/real artist with a good reputation, tons of clients, huge online portfolio, etc, etc... like thousands of dollars for one arm. I'd rather invest that money into a more tangible form of art, like a brand new guitar.

Personally, I think tattoos have the potential to be really cool. In another life, I'd totally rock some Alex Grey inspired DMT art on my body.

No, I've never seen a person where I thought tattoos made them look better. I think it's pretty funny as I'm older (52) and I see my old high school peers on social media having midlife crisis angst getting blasted and pierced. It's like, good call 👍😬

i think we judge people because we care about society overall and not cause we are mean
Shit man, I have a lot of tattoos and can completely empathize with what you're saying. If I'm walking around in public with visible tattoos, people absolutely should have their opinions about them and me- I understood that fact when I got my first one.

Tattoos are awesome, as long as it's not some stupid tribles or hipster shit.

I have a small one myself on my left arm, it's only the numbers 1337, guess most of you will recognize them :D

But it's a selfmade one, had a few beers when I was 17 and a friend owned a tattoo needle set, so I was like, yeah, why not.

I still like the tattoo, fortunately he friend had some skill and it does not look like crap

I have 8, all done by myself because I was an aspiring tattoo artist from 18-20 (they make damn good money)

I gave up when everyone that knew I was in practice asked me for free tattoos. I never worked on another, so I was still iffy about purposefully inflicting pain and I didn't think my work was good enough. I was also not about making it easier for people chasing a trend

For some reason I came here expecting to be like the one guy who doesn't have tats in this world. I'm like the most plain ass white boy no tats or piercings.

I find them interesting/sexy in most cases but it's just not something I'd ever do. At one point having tats was like a counter-culture thing but to me I feel just the opposite in the sense of not conforming to that as well.

none, but my wife and I may get a small one when we retire (hopefully in about 5 years)

Overall, they are a big turn off to me.

Lip tattoo will fade incredibly quickly, same with ones on palm, even on fingers. I have a full sleeve, planning on doing other one eventually and once long time in the future extending it over my hands.

I have a Metroid. It will be part of a sleeve by the time I am done with my post doctoral work. If you get them make sure they can be covered up and that they are respectful. An understanding that tattoos are not culturally appropriate in most of the world and that one's opinion of what is or is not acceptable is just that an opinion so being angry that the rest of the world might not be accepting of ones decisions should be understood. I personally don't see a problem with them but I also will not be offended if others do.

For some reason the people who hate tattoos love to tell everyone just how much they hate them. It's really weird.

Would you prefer one word answers in the thread? Wouldn't want to offend the delicate sensibilities of body art enthusiasts.

Not actually any hate really, just aesthetic preferences.

What delicate sensibilities? I genuinely don't give a fuck if you like them or not. It doesn't hurt my feelings one way or another. I just find it odd that people who don't like them love telling people how much they hate them.

no, probably because I can't think of one I really want, also I might change my mind later and C, one time I was at a water part queuing for water slides and the number of shitty tattoos I saw, it really put me off them.

having said that my wife has three and they really suit her.
