My advice for any appointments is, always make them as early in the morning as possible.

The later in the day your appointment is, the more people they have seen before you.

If each person runs over by just 5 minutes, then by the end of the day they're always running late by as much as an hour.

The reason you have to wait is so that the doc doesn't kick you out the second your time is up, but tries to finish the consultation / test / whatever

Don't mind waiting but I would still be pretty pissed if he's running 2 hours late, is that typical for Canada's health care system?
My thing is if your going to have us wait a while at least have some comfortable chairs to sit on.

Well, my experience with doctors is: wait wait wait
You can't go to visit a doctor and not to wait ahah that's something impossible! :D

Or make it right after his lunch break.

A lot of these places also take in emergency cases/walk ins so if someone has something worse than you they are going to see them first.

Waiting does suck. I see a lot of doctors so podcasts are a miracle cure for waiting. I can't game at a doctors office, there's just too many people around and I can't focus on gaming enough.

I'm not a patient person, I hate waiting for anything. If I go to a website and it doesn't load I'm 2 seconds I yell c'mon you fucker! At the monitor.

This is me, I bring my Switch to every doctor's appointment I've been to since I bought it.

I even bring a backpack with me daily to work, and the first thing I throw in is my switch case. Do I commute on a bus? No. How many lunch breaks have I played my switch on instead of working through? Probably less than 10. However I still pack it every day lol

At least i am not this other guy who came for his appointment at 4:50. But it was at 14:50 lol and on the 24th lol.

At least i get all the free handsanatizer i want. I should fill up my pockets and sell it on the blackmarket.

Blood tests are my kryptonite. I don't mind shots, it's not a needle thing, but seeing my blood fill the vial makes me legit woozy. I typically have to lay down and close my eyes, as wussy was that sounds

Where do you live and why does your healthcare suck so bad?
I do blood tests once a year.

I set up an appointment and get a time at one of the private clinics a couple of days later.
I go there on the date and time and never have to wait more than 5 minutes.

They know you'll start a war otherwise.

Well, sure, maybe.
But it sure beats having to book 3 months in advance and then ontop of that have to wait for many hours for something as simple and basic as a blood test.

What is he testing your blood for?
Is it syphilis? You might have syphilis?
I bet it is syphilis. Man that really sucks that you caught syphilis.

Yeah, I have appointments every 3 months too and I always end up waiting at least an hour before being seen. I don't complain, though. I used to wait for 2 or 3 hours at a time.

Canada. Universal health care that everyone says is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Though i will say I haven't had to pay for my visits or the drugs I am on (except for my pharmacuticals, but covered by my insurance).

The blood test was pretty quick though. Probably waited about 30 mins because there were a few people ahead of me and only one person working.

But as far as seeing a doctor, even for private clinics they still over book and make you wait. I have never gone to an appointment at a doctor or dentist that started at the time I had the appointment. Its always a wait. They say show up at 2, you aren't seeing anyone until at least 2:30 if not later.

That sucks :-(

In a functioning market economy. If you have permanent long waiting lists it is a sign that the market is not working.
Because if the market worked it would see that the demand outstrips the supply and someone would just open up another new
clinic to cater to that gap and cut down on the waiting list.

Can't speak for all of Australia or all types of procedures but I just go to the private clinic and I never have to wait.
Then it is all paid for by the public medicare program.
