Next-Gen PS5 & XSX |OT| Console tEch threaD

RDNA 2 is Ray Tracing exclusive feature? if so most features in XSX is available in PS5, Both consoles will be similar in term of specs.

show me then, where was it shown that the PS5 is not 9.2TF, show me where... was there a slide I missed where AMD said "oh btw, the PS5 is not 9.2TF, we not gonna tell you how powerful it is but it's not 9.2TF yo!"

when will people stop interpreting stuff into information that isn't there? just stop it.
we have zero reliable data on how powerful the PS5 will be when it hits store shelves, that is a fact, you cant deny that.
so it could be 9.2TF, it could be 18TF is Sony has suicidal thoughts and tries to sell a 1200€ console
Nowhere.

That's why for every 9.2TF github leak and guy on Twitter going over Oberon specs, there isn't a matching data leaked spec sheet saying PS5 is ~12TF.

All the PS5 TF "leaks" which have ranged anywhere from 10-13TF (insiders can't even get consensus, nor reveal dates right) come from heresay.

Like i said before, Github was old info. It was meant to be the 2019 chip. It makes sense why it had no vrs and no ray tracing. Oberon was always rdna 1. Colbert doing mental gymnastics over on ree. He now claims he knew oberon was rdna 2 before this reveal so it fits with his 9.2 TF narrative, lol.
Yeah I just read that, that guy is just way too delusional, the GitHub leak states it is Navi 10 Lite, RDNA 2 = Navi 2x.....not Navi 10 Lite.

It's over for the GitHub believers, Klee was right and Colbert was wrong.

7nm+ (euv) has been rebranded 7nm regular. 7nm regular automatically gets the best version. Should mean they are using euv steps with RDNA2/PS5/XSX.

Also supply chain almost back to normal, for those scared about a delay.

Interesting
And what is 7nm+ stated to RDNA 3?

That explanation makes no sense.

Digital Foundry also has once again shown their stripes also but you know we need to put faith in them bcus they are the authority figure, neutral party in all this 🤦‍♂️😂😂😂 8tf baby from inside sources my 🌭🌭🌭

RL: "That's a very interesting turn of events, and one that leaves us with more questions regarding the PS5, in light of those leaked 9TF (at best) specs.
Oh, and did I mention already what an absolute BEAST the Xbox Series X is?"

we should be more careful with these kind of messages. it directly implies corruption, dishonesty and bias from DF members.

so if Microsoft co-developed RDNA 2.0 technology then how would that work out for the PS5? forgive my ignorance lol

So thats the end of the event?
Where's Phil?

I've said it before, but my theory behind the persistent 9.2tf Github discussions is that there are a bunch of Xbox loyalists who desperately want Microsoft to pull a PS4/XB1 style specs lead.

I take the AMD slides as confirmation that the PS5 is not 9.2tf and that it likely means that both consoles are super close on specs. That's great news for anyone thinking about buying a PS5 or XSX. I'll never understand the constant attempts to push the weaker/stronger narrative, particularly this far out.

everyone who reports information that compliments only 1 side is automatically a fanboy or shill in the eyes of fanatics.
very simple

Blue pill is ignorance and subscribing to the same MisterMediaX FUD as last time, Red pill is waking up from the ignorance and listening to AMD, actual solid sources in the industry, and everything else that flies in your face with logic.

Has nothing to do with the consoles themselves, but chosen confirmation bias and ignorance.

should be green

So if rDNA 2 is 50% better ppw then RDNA1 does that mean XSX is the equivalent of a 24tf gcn?

Wow if so.

No no no.

It would mean that the chips need less power for the same performance.

Imagine it in terms of the Xbox Series X would need only 150W for hitting the performance it has instead of 300W if it had GCN.

It would mean that a Vega 64 graphics card (GCN) that draws 300W would only need 150W for the same performance if it is RDNA2.

At the end of the day performance and power draw are directly related. it is basically how we get all the gains each generation and each node jump.

For you as a consumer it probably means that the Xbox Series X is going to use 200W instead of 300W (this is napkin math only used as an example because I have no official numbers on how much power the Xbox Series X draws and I am not factoring in other components.)

MS ensures API compatibility through DXR. Which is a big deal on PC.

But it does not mean anything on console, where each manufacturer developed its own API.

Hi guys i'm back from the future once again!

13TF
7GB/s SSD
24GB RAM
450$
PS5 reveal 23rd of march

And one really insane feature you guys have no idea about.

Date of Ghost of tsushima June 26, 2020 announced by Sony.

Announcement of a TLOU series with HBO by the director of the Chernobyl series.

RDNA 2 confirmed too by AMD for the PS5.

Only 40-50 million xbox one sold (big failure) confirmed by AMD.

Tough day for xboys

Good lord man. The other place is having a meltdown over the PS5 being RDNA 2. Doesn't that basically confirm that the Github information doesn't have any conclusive evidence about PS5?

it never had conclusive evidence fro what the final hardware will look like, we know that chip is real, we know it was made for Sony.
so it was reasonable to assume it is for PS5 dev kits.

dev kit hardware gets revisions over time, the 360 went from being a literal Mac PC (like literally an Apple Mac) to the final dev kit which resembles a retail 360 almost exactly.

Even when the mod repeatedly warns posters to stop the fanboy cr**...

But RDNA 2.0 made only for X? 12 TF beast? :messenger_tears_of_joy:, watch out, the same people boosting "but MS bought new studios" with no games to prove yet already concern trolling in GoT thread
spewing "no gameplay, must be shit" narrative. Oh, the irony

So a 225w RDNA1 GPU would only need about 112w RDNA2 FOR the same performance.

Nothing is stopping the PS5 to be 9.2TFlops RDNA2 though. Why would having RDNA2 mean it has to be 12TFlops?
