GAF's Nintendo Discussion, News, and Speculation |OT|

I'm just trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. Once Nintendo has a direct, or something, they'll calm down and talk about the upcoming games. Jooxed Jooxed @Mista You're both right about the hysterics, but it seems like a normal reaction over there.
Yeah man we all want that Direct and new games. Nintendo are obviously playing it down right now to focus on their next big release which is Animal Crossing

Ahh thank you I wanted to try the game but held off because I prefer physical.

Me too. Some titles and collections are in desperate need of a physical release IMO, like Alien: Isolation, GRID Autosport, Konami's Anniversary Collections, the classic DOOM games (maybe after DOOM 64?).

Also, still mind-boggling that CAPCOM chose to include a physical version of Resident Evil 0 in their Resident Evil: Origins Collection, instead of the first game. Otherwise I would've purchased a US import copy.

I wonder why they do that now. Surely they would not do if the game hadn't at least met their expectations.

Yeah, it's strange. Was quite surprised when I saw it was up for pre-order when I visited my local online game retailer for new games to buy.

I'm gonna get Oninaki. I'm a sucker for japanese RPGs and I can't say no to it when a physical drops. And I liked the demo quite a bit.

Anyone else ever have to press the home button 3-4 times to wake up the system from sleep when in handheld mode? It's annoying af.

I'm not talking about pressing a button 3 times to get off the lock screen, either. I'm talking about sleep to wake.

It's like: "Hello! McFly!" every single time.

on the proncontroller it takes me a couple attempts sometimes to wake my OG switch up , but not sure if that's a controller thing or switch thing.

never had any issues with the lite though.

It never happens to me on the Pro. Just in undocked mode using attached joycon.

It's like my Switch had a late night and doesn't want to get up!

I did notice every once in a while now on my OG I will be getting a black screen but the switch is on.. I can hear all the sounds and I have to reset it

Just checked and no, mine turns on instantly.

Maybe, your joycons have to sync first with the console so they can power it up, like the pro controller
Maybe their pins don't connect properly with the console

I respect trying to be kind, but no, they'll complain, after all this, that it was a terrible Direct. Like they do every time. @Mista is right about them.

The new color looks so good there. Nintendo needs to stop tempting me with new Switches. :messenger_hushed:

Stay the course. Buy the AC. Do not let me down our friendship depends on it.

As much as I am not convinced of the Lite, this colour makes me wanna get one....

WAKE UP MISTA!

Man...... I bought DQXI on switch even though I beat it on PS4 but didn't the finish the post campaign.

The game looks like ass on the switch, blurry resolution, tons of pop in with foliage.

Son of a bitch. :messenger_pouting: :messenger_pouting: :messenger_pouting:

yeah I played through the most of the game and I think it's one of the better looking switch ports. Maybe time for an vision test?

Folks, is Nintendo Switch 2 coming this year!?

"Let's be real and stop being fanboys for moment"

OK... I think I see where this is going. You'd better not say you are fine with Nintendo's release schedules or that you don't much care if there is a Direct or not. Goddamn Nintendo defending fanboys! Switch 2 is coming out this year!

"Just imagine getting a more powerful Switch 2 with a nice magnesium casing this year, hnnng."

Ah, yes, the fabled magnesium casing.
No doubt it will also be as powerful as PS4 Pro but not have a noisy fan or lousy battery life or overheat too much!
Probably should retail for less than 300 bucks, maybe even less than 200, but Nintendo fanboys will pay anything so probably it'll be 500 bucks.

Fuck it. I'm convinced.
Nintendo has been quiet for 6 months because Switch 2 will be here before the end of 2020.
(Goddamn how foolish would I feel if this somehow happened?)

Now... just one more thing...

Wait for it... wait...

Wait...

"Plus Monolith Soft's new medieval open world a-rpg for a launch-title to blow everyone away."

I thought it was a gorgeous game on Switch, but I've never seen the PS4 version.

It doesn't look as good and that's to be expected, sure. But think about the content and options you have with this version. It is in that way what it says it is: Definitive. Still, I find it a very impressive port, and a game I didn't expect to have a full (complete) physical release either.

Pretty cool that he does satire.

yet ANOTHER thing folks can point to when arguing that yes, opinions can indeed be wrong
How is he wrong? It is blurry and there's definitely a lot of pop in, especially in comparison to the PS4 version. I prefer JRPGs in a handheld format so I actually favor the Switch version, but there's no denying it's not the most attractive when coming from playing it on a PS4 Pro.

Anything when you compare it to the PS4 Pro is going to look like Night and Day especially in Handheld. However look at something like this compared to XC2 in handheld the difference is huge.

Which is what Ranger was saying, so I'm not sure why people are jumping on him and saying he's wrong.

In comparison to XC2 in handheld yeah it looks leagues better, but so do most things :P

Ranger thinks it looks awful, though. Everyone else doesn't. Clash of opinion.

I've only seen the game on YouTube, so I can't comment.

And he's entitled to his opinion. I think in comparison to how clean it looks on PS4 Pro it does look pretty bad.

But in comparison to other games on the Switch, it looks pretty damn good.

And they're entitled to theirs. Gotta let them talk it out, even if it gets heated, create some interesting discourse and insight on the matter.

My point is that someone said Ranger's opinion on the graphical fidelity of the Switch port is proof that opinions can be wrong, which I thought was unfairly dismissive. Stop being argumentative with me because your husbando was banned. I miss him too.

Just like we are entitled to ridicule their terrible opinion on the GOAT JRPG :)

The internet is a rough place, with arguments made in rough ways. It's not Canada where everything is 24/7 hugs and Eskimo kisses.

You have to toughen up, my small Eskimo child.

You people are a lost cause lol

Why because we can have a friendly debate over graphic fidelity? Stop over to the next gen thread if you want to see an ugly debate. Not everyone is going to have the same opinion about a game and people are passionate about the games that they like. As long as It doesn't get out of hand I see no problem with people debating back and forth with how good it looks.
