So here's how I look at it.

XSX = 12 Teraflops at $499

PS5 = 10 Teraflops at $399

Xbox Lockhart = 4 Teraflops at $299.

not going to happen. it may have less TFs, but that is not making it cheaper.. the SSD they are using is crazy expensive

20% or so more performance on the XSX isn't THAT much, but IF MS manages to come out with a Lockhart SKU that undercuts the PS5 AND delivers, after all these years, exciting Xbox platform exclusives, that could mean lots of market share shifting at least in the US and UK.

Microsoft will have a 299 cheap console around 5 TFLOPS and then the X at 599.

PS5 will be in the middle with 399 and 9 TFLOPS. It will sell double as much as the two Xbox combined.

One year and a half after that, Sony drops the PS5 Pro with 14 TFLOPS.

Everything is under control.

That trend will continue with refreshes, Microsoft already said Series X is the current entry.
So like phones, GPU, CPU and whatever else that gets a refresh so will console be moving forward.
The SSD speed feels damn wasted on this machine (PS5), looking forward to what comes next already.

The work they've done on storage looks awesome, you have to actually load data before it can use all those teraflops after all.

Also, external HDD for ps4 games, install your own M2 drive internally for more PS5 game storage is awesome.
