I'm worried guys. So I was on this crazy workout thing where I worked out for 52 days in a row. Yesterday I broke that streak. Well because I was feeling extremely lethargic and my muscles ached so bad. I was just tired. I thought maybe doing all these random weird home workouts I maybe just overdid it I dont know. With everything going on I thought I'd just take a day off to rest and go hard again tomorrow. Which is still weird cause im super over the top when I decide to do something so taking a day off was unlike me. Well I woke up at 4am and have just been coughing nonstop for last 30 minutes. I can hear a sort of whistle in my chest. It feels like a dry cough idk. What the fuck? I hope im not sick. I quarantined day or two before they asked us to. But also I went to gym all the way up until. I also worked a job with hundreds of people on the daily. Ive stayed away from everyone. I was already stocked before hand so i haven't been to store. Man Idk I hope im just tripping. I'm a lil scared not so much for me but I seen some loved ones right before i self quarantined. I really hope im not sick. I'm hoping im just tired and this is just a coincidence. I don't wanna be the cause of anyone getting sick. I'm an extrovert and I live alone and I'm having a hard time being quarantined but ive done the right thing this whole time staying isolated. Blah blah blah. Hope im overthinking it.

Call the hospital or coronavirus hotline and explain this

Sounds like you have it, and you are over trained , not smart to keep training like this , as the body needs to fight a virus, better to not train for a while and just run or bicycle.

Good luck and get well! You seem to be in good health so that helps. After recovering keep training but moderately, start up after 4 weeks.

There are not too few medical supplies available. In the end, the world has more than enough to deal with the virus. The problem is rather the logistics and who is in possession of these important goods. The virus has different epicenters in each country. Even in Italy there are more than enough hospitals with full medical supplies. But the virus requires an enormous concentration of these medical goods at different regional points, i.e. these epicentres. In short, if the virus were perfectly evenly spread throughout the world, there would be few bottlenecks.

It does not matter whether a country has 100, 100,000 or 100,000,000 inhabitants. A lockdown is a lockdown, and if you stick with it, it will always produce exactly the same results.
China has of course the advantage that the people and the government there have already had previous experience (SARS/MERS) and that face masks etc. are also very common there. Many people have already worn face masks at the end of December and beginning of January as a precaution. But of course the government is doing its part as well.

What is always frightening is that people don't know what simple hand washing, how to sneeze and not to touch the face can do to spread a virus. This can already prevent 40-50% of cases. If you add face masks (see Asia) and some social distance, viruses have a relatively hard time. And by the way, this was almost all the case in China before the lockdown happened.
The biggest advantage China has is that you literally get thrown in jail if you leave yor house for anything but groceries, and if you leave Wuhan you get sentenced to death right away. China's quarantine is 100% quarantine.

I never give a shit about anything but an invisible demon that spreads to people you care about got me shook..... Now im just being extra.

How does South America have so much less cases than the U.S. despite having less medical and over 100 million more people? Anyone here with the mind to help educate me on this?

Wheezing and the runny nose are normally not the symptoms.

Diarrhea, dry cough , pain in the lungs, hard to breath, very tired are.

They are at a very early stage of the outbreak. I can see it ripping through parts of Brazil though.

If people think Italy is bad, when this grips a lesser-developed country, it's going to be a whole new level.

International travel will have to be put on hold for years.

Completely unrelated, South Africa just reached 402 confirmed. That's 128 up from yesterday, from 1 case on the first of the month. Number of tested just under 10,000. President to address the country again tonight. We're thinking curfews on the horizon.

They have summer there so the rate of infection is lower IMO.

I can say that my country Costa Rica has managed the spread well also thanks to a good public health system and a quick response by the government who started closing places and events even when infection numbers were low. They acted pretty fast and efficiently and public institutions got together quickly to respond well to the crisis. We have a nationalized liquors company which stopped the development of alcoholic beverages immediately and started developing only disinfectant with the alcohol they had. The national communications company increased internet speeds for everyone at no additional cost. And the nationalized health system worked with public universities to detect people earlier, they managed to map every single case of the infection until now and trace back to other cases. Frankly, this is why I defend a strong government with strong public institutions. Even when Costa Rican public institutions have been weakened by neoliberal policies since the 80s they still work mainly for the people in enough efficient ways. They still has lots to improve but this is a major punch to those in the country who want to close and privatize those services. I don't know what CR would have done with only private services considering how expensive private health is and how companies worry first on profit than the country they operate in, probably the situation would have been much more different.

My mother also got cured of cancer by the public health system and she didn't have to pay anything for all the treatment.

I'm not saying that China is always transparent. Of course, China can be criticised for many things, and I do not believe that the figures for the coronavirus are correct. But that is not what this is about. It is about the extreme exaggerations (not only about China).

Also this is not about whistleblowers. There are millions of foreigners living in China who are free to move around and report what they want and there are plenty of ways to be anonymous on the internet. China is constantly being criticized, mostly by its own citizens. I have the feeling that some people confuse other cultures and lifestyles, which differ from their own, with constant oppression.

The social conditioning, media framing, and 'us vs them' mentality due to geopolitical rivalry does not help either. There's a console war fanboy mentality going on now between America and China. I will stick with my PS5, love East and West. Lol

Funny enough, most Chinese people love America and American culture, but after this incident and the reporting by American media / government, a sense of resentment has been built.

Ain't enough fuckers taking the advice seriously here.
Went from jokingly expecting, to fully expecting England to be this in the coming weeks.

If you think the UK is bad, you should see Japanese Twitch streamers walking around a packed Japan. Literally NO measures being taken at all. Japan doesn't give a shit.

Clowns are still trying to save the olympics. What's the point in having it if nobody shows up? We all know it's going to be delayed, just get it over with.

Top U.S. health officials are "looking very closely" at reports that a much higher percentage of younger Americans than expected need hospitalization as a result of contracting the coronavirus, Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said Sunday.

Fauci was responding to new data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which, after studying more than 4,000 cases in the U.S., showed that about 40 percent of those who were hospitalized for the virus as of March 16 were ages 20 to 54. Among the most critical cases, 12 percent of intensive care admissions were among those ages 20 to 44, while 36 percent were for those 45 to 64.

I wonder how many of those have lifestyle illnesses related to obesity.

General Terrence O'Shaughnessy: Secret plan to install general if law breaks down

General Terrence O'Shaughnessy: Secret plan to install general if law breaks down

The Trump administration has issued secret orders to facilitate a military takeover of the US in the event that civilian leadership is incapacitated during the coronavirus crisis, a report says.

The orders would kick in if disease or violence arising from the pandemic rendered Washington impotent and prevented devolution of power to civilian leaders in the regions as envisaged in decades of contingency planning.

The United States would then be placed under the authority of Terrence O'Shaughnessy, a four-star general and former fighter pilot who is the designated "combatant commander", according to Newsweek.

General O' Shaughnessy, 56, leads the US Northern Command (Northcom), a military authority responsible for homeland defence, created after the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

On February 1 Mark Esper, the defence secretary, signed standby orders instructing Northcom to execute plans for a pandemic and alerting it and east coast military units to "prepare to deploy" for possible "extraordinary" missions, including the imposition of some form of martial law.

Of the seven plans drawn up to conduct these missions, three are transport-orientated: they lay out how the military would rescue and evacuate President Trump, Mike Pence, the vice-president, and their families, move the secretary of defence and other national security leaders to a secure location, ferry congressional leaders and the supreme court to emergency sites and maintain government operations from a bunker in Maryland.

A fourth plan, codenamed Granite Shadow, relates to domestic missions involving weapons of mass destruction.

Three others — Octagon, Freejack and Zodiac — outline how "continuity of government" would be maintained by circumventing the succession sequence laid out in the constitution and placing military commanders in control until a new civilian leader could be installed.

In October 2018 the joint chiefs of staff reminded military commanders that they could "engage temporarily" in military control on their own authority "where prior authorisation by the president is impossible" or where local authorities "are unable to control the situation". Eligible conditions include "large scale unexpected civil disturbances" involving "significant loss of life or wanton destruction of property".

In the final year of his administration President Obama issued an order clarifying the "national essential functions" of government that needed to be maintained in an emergency.

The catastrophe response programme began in the Eisenhower era, when the possibility emerged of an enemy power obliterating the White House in a nuclear attack.

Imposing martial law temporarily is a "pretty straightforward process" when only one city or region has been devastated, a military planner told William Arkin, the journalist and former soldier who wrote the Newsweek piece. "But with coronavirus, where the effect is nationwide, we're in territory we've never been in before."

IF all the numbers are correct the Netherlands only has 141 icu's left ... wtf

Nice that my government took away money from healthcare for years ..

Yes that's the lie the world tried to cover up... here in The Netherlands it's the same .

Would mean instant Hollywood panic and they don't want that..

Reading reports that Trump is considering opening up the USA again after 15 days of social distancing, as the damage to the economy is going to be worse than the virus itself. Also known as the reverse-Boris tactic.

If we all do this it will be worse than the Spanish flu, millions of dead.

Instead we have tech now, but use it for pleasure .

The internet, teleconference , face time , slack, send digital files, trade is digital , education can be digital.

Use it world. And yes it will still generate less money, but it will keep us afloat.

What I find weird, I haven't seen 1 story of recovery , no footage inside a hospital , no videos of parts of the country worst hit, something isn't right here in the Netherlands. We are so small yet nothing is shown.

Also nothing from the places worst hit.
