You guys are one week in, we also, our intelligent lock down is extended to 1 June. You can go out to buy food doctor and work if that's open , but have to stay home , you can go outside but not with more than 3, and stay 1.5 meters distance, all events cancelled until that date.

Shits scary, but if Asian countries can do it we can do it. Life will suck for a while but China/SK/HK/Taiwan aren't destitue with bread lines and no food etc...

I have faith in my government and fellow Canucks. Its just going to be a shitty 4-6 weeks with lots of fear and panic.

But seriously if China didn't get 100's of millions infected with how poor and backwards they could be outside the major cities, there should be no excuse for North America to turn into Mad Max/Escape from New York.

But if GAF goes down all bets are off, riots in the streets and bodies stacked to the sky.

9) food markets will be controlled by mayors for licensing if they can or can't stay open, depends on if the food is crucial for the neightbourhoods.
10) only one person can shop for the family its no longer a social thing with more people from the same family unless there is absolute no way to not do so.
11) Therapists etc will be limited towards video calls, if its not possible through video calls then clients can still visit with a doctors note if needed. This is to protect health workers.

Other additional things that are going to happen, and the state of IC units and intensive care rooms + hospitals.

Current corona patients are easily handled by the system just yet, but preparations are made for a big outbreak.

1) Hospitals are finished rebuilding to the point it can absorb the maximum capacity of corona patients with IC units.
2) Military is put in place to coordinate and finished building a crisis centrum with health organisations that will redirect corona patients if hospitals get overwhelmed ( for the future ) so hospitals don't fall over.
3) IC ( air breath machines ) will be confiscated in other proffessions and rebuilded to add towards extra units for the worst case scenario from private clinics and operation rooms.
4) More IC units that where old and written off will be repaired and added towards the current IC units, also brand new units that have been stockpiled before the outbreak will be tested and put to use if needed.
5) Loads more IC units are ordered but we can't relay on them to arrive, but still ordered for the chance it does to add towards the extra stockpile
6) New company's are builded right now to build IC units so this is ready when the patient amount will grow also which again adds towards the stockpile of IC untis
7) Current corna patients are spread towards other hospital from the south to the north to free up all the space needed for more corona patients.

Financial institutes:

Because of the strong market position and loads of money hoarding through the last couple of years for crisis situations, banks will absorb the financial hit that gets created on not paying mortgages etc, which they can easily do.

As of now the rules will stay in place for the next 2 months and will expand if needed.

1) every lungair machine or whatever in operation rooms / private clinics or other professionals will be confiscated and rebuild to feature future corona patients.

More IC units ( air breath units ) are ordered but we can't relay on them arriving.

We are still in the thick of this. China claims a lot of things, lets see where things fall.

But we need your "just a flu" optimism. Case rates were always going to skyrocket with more and more testing done.

Death rate is all that matters now.

I have no idea what China is up to and honestly, I don't think anyone does. Who knows who to trust regarding what they've been up to. A lot of people claim they're leaking false info to make themselves look better.

For the record, I don't think there's any chance this administration just pulls the plug in 2 weeks and says "EVERYBODY BACK TO WORK! THE ECONOMY IS DYING!" If Trump thinks the economy tanking is political suicide, the deaths of tons of people would be even worse political suicide. Death is something that hits home for everyone and doesn't discriminate. There will be deaths of all types of people and all political beliefs. His republican base will lose a ton of people also and they're gonna hold a grudge come election time if there's something they could've done to prevent mass deaths and they don't, he will cost himself the election. I don't see any way Trump's administration goes through with it. They will keep following CDC and expert recommendations because the alternative is much worse for them in pretty much all aspects, including the election.

This is China's greatest advantage. Major cities are the biggest problem. Lockdowns are ancient known methods for containing an epidemic. They worked back then and they still work today.

All of it. But they had the advantage that it was mostly shut down anyway due to the Chinese New Year so in effect they just had to close public attractions. Then they let each community self manage access for residents.

They did not allow schools or businesses to reopen after CNY so there was no need to force them to close.

That article you linked is from 3/20, which was the same day the 60's was reported, so I would guess it's referring to the older person. The 30-year old was posted today, but I don't see any more info yet.

I'm guessing Washington, where I'm at, will go on lockdown. Gov. Inslee has a press conf. for tonight at 5:30 announcing new measures. I'm guessing it will be a shelter in place order. Bunch of people going to the beaches and having large gatherings over the weekend....just sheer stupidity.
