That's blatantly false, plenty of people have warned about the potential of this happening, estimated our preparedness etc.5 months ago something like this was inconceivable and people would have being laughed at for suggesting it.

I have seen a bunch just google search itSorry if it's been raised here already but has anyone noticed that there seems to be a lack of content, video or forum conversation based, of people who have contracted coronavirus talking about it. Is the internet trying to scrub them out. What are they hiding? It would be good to hear from everyday people who have contracted it to know what it's like.

The only ones I come across are the ones published by a media outlet. E.g CNN 26 yr old share experiences etc. Where's the random stuff. Just every day people posting in a forum. Even in YouTube there aren't any video of regular people posting their experiences. Again they're through a media publisher.I have seen a bunch just google search it

That's exactly what I mean man! Like surely there will be a few people who post a video on YouTube. Like their daily journey having coronavirus or something like that. People post other stupid fucking daily shit. That stuff would be useful so a paranoid fucker like myself can hear it from a more genuine every day person what it's like. But instead you're right we get experiences of the same people through the media outlets. Something is up man.I've been wating to ask this, but it's a bit conspiracy-ish.
Where the hell are these 80,000+ people who recovered? The news keeps rolling out the same five people to tell us about their experience, some of which act suspicious (The guy in the Sun article was a straight-up actor, as people were pointing out).
You'd think there would be far more.

Are you saying you want old people to die?!?It can easily border into conspiracy theory territory here but I have started to think the same thing. I'm not sure I would go as far as to say the internet is scrubbing them out, but it is slightly disconcerting that you just arent really hearing anything other than the media outlet sanctioned stories going around.
Well im relieved I'm not the only one who has noticed it. I'm not trying to create conspiracy it's just a simple observation which baffles me. Though if we were to talk about conspiracy my bet is that the illuminati is behind the coronavirus. It can easily border into conspiracy theory territory here but I have started to think the same thing. It could be that they don't want random people spreading false hope and solutions everywhere. Like a guy gets cured by doing nothing and then he's on YouTube claiming that it's just a mild flu and then others who are at a bigger risk start also not taking it seriously.Well im relieved I'm not the only one who has noticed it. Possible, but the problem with this theory is that YouTube, social media, and the internet at large must've suddenly gotten 1,000x more efficient at culling Wrongthink™ in the blink of an eye.It could be that they don't want random people spreading false hope and solutions everywhere. Like a guy gets cured by doing nothing and then he's on YouTube claiming that it's just a mild flu and then others who are at a bigger risk start also not taking it seriously.
First waiting for people die in higher numbers and only then resorting to stricter measures hints at it.

Probably few hundred of these closed.
I look at it like this. Usually when I buy something I have no experience with i like to hear or see other peoples experiences with it. I find its more credible info than what I read on a review article from a publisher thats highly biased because of some sort of financial arrangement. I don't just get one real life opinion but multiple and then I feel I can have an informed point of view. I'd like to develop a pov this way about the coronavirus from real everyday people who caught it so I can feel better prepared. But this doesn't exist and instead we're getting what the media outlets want us to see.It could be that they don't want random people spreading false hope and solutions everywhere. Like a guy gets cured by doing nothing and then he's on YouTube claiming that it's just a mild flu and then others who are at a bigger risk start also not taking it seriously.
The virus has no vaccine but it is understood that the vast majority of cases will be mild or no symptoms.
Yes it does, as seen in Italy, Spain, France, Germany, USA, Belgium... oh wait, almost everywhere. No it doesn't.
How convenient.People will die anyway.
BULLSHIT. The whistleblower who died from C19 was a young healthy man. Many of those who have died had other conditions that would have also likely killed them.
the summer Olympic in Tokyo is officially postponed until next year now

a shame but it's pretty much inevitable. only up side would be that travel to Japan once this whole thing dies down, would be pretty offerable.
He's the damn reason half the people think it's no big deal. Said some really dumb shit that idiots still believeThey do when the Kung Flu hits nursing homes and older obese people first.
And I stopped at "months of denial". Trump cut off Chinese travel before any other country did a damn thing, and that was months ago. That's why the strains showing up in the US come from Europe.
I am really surprised it took them this long. I get that postponing the Olympics is no small thing but it literally seemed like the only event that hadn't cancelled yet

Tokyo Olympics got cancelled once already, so I can't blame them for desperately trying to make this one work.I am really surprised it took them this long. I get that postponing the Olympics is no small thing but it literally seemed like the only event that hadn't cancelled yet
That story is less *Be careful listening to anyone other than doctors or experts* more *Don't fucking self-medicate with random shit*
Not that random when the oily cheesy poof is spewing nonesense about it every day.

Its basically everyone except hairdressers and clothing stores.
He talked about a malaria drug called chloroquine. They took an aquarium cleaner called chloroquine phosphate. Take your TDS pills.
Yeah there's a lot of things still open. And I really need a haircut. I'm one of those clean-cut once a month type guys.
Or this might be an excuse to grow my hair out like in high school again.

It is understood that nearly 20% of infected need medical assistance, 4% are critical.
80% have "mild condition" and can stay home. Of them:
50% have light or no symptoms.
30% have fever and what not
Yes it does, as seen in Italy, Spain, France, Germany, USA, Belgium... oh wait, almost everywhere.
We get to new round of infected people, which is followed by late response of the government.
How convenient.

Testing all inhabitants of a country is MUCH cheaper (and does nothing at all and is useless) than a two-month lockdown. In addition, there may be 10-20% of people who do not respect the lockdown. Nevertheless, the spread of the virus is very strongly contained.
The vast majority had none or only some symptoms of a simple cold. Why should you make a big deal out of it? What do you want people to say? And what are people who were ventilated supposed to say? It's a virus. It's a disease. Whatever this virus does, other viruses do as well, to a lesser or greater degree.
The filter bubble this thread leads to is getting weirder and weirder. Some distance from this subject would benefit some folks around here.

Testing everyone is the only viable option, the few countries that have dealt with this better did it. Its the only way to find the clusters and isolate them.
IF you dont test everyone then there will be other waves of contagion, and we still dont know if you stay immune after getting it once.
Five months ago we didn't know about this specific virus, but people have warned about the possibility of it a long time ago:False how? that a pandemic was possible or Covid specifically?
2007 said:The presence of a large reservoir of SARS-CoV-like viruses in horseshoe bats, together with the culture of eating exotic mammals in southern China, is a time bomb. The possibility of the reemergence of SARS and other novel viruses from animals or laboratories and therefore the need for preparedness should not be ignored.
2015 said:The results indicate that group 2b viruses encoding the SHC014 spike in a wild-type backbone can efficiently use multiple orthologs of the SARS receptor human angiotensin converting enzyme II (ACE2), replicate efficiently in primary human airway cells and achieve in vitro titers equivalent to epidemic strains of SARS-CoV. Additionally, in vivo experiments demonstrate replication of the chimeric virus in mouse lung with notable pathogenesis. Evaluation of available SARS-based immune-therapeutic and prophylactic modalities revealed poor efficacy; both monoclonal antibody and vaccine approaches failed to neutralize and protect from infection with CoVs using the novel spike protein. [...] Our work suggests a potential risk of SARS-CoV re-emergence from viruses currently circulating in bat populations.

The thing is that as testing ramps up they will be identifying more and more of these milder cases since people are encouraged to go and get tested.
So their recovery story would basically be kind of unremarkable. I think for some you might even doubt that they had it.
People seem to want to hear more of "OMG some 18 year old kid who was fit and healthy got it and died" rather than "John Smith down the street had a scratchy throat for 5 days and then was fine his wife and kids were fine too".
If a high % of the serious cases are over 75s etc then they are far less likely to be online trying to get internet fame with their story.
