Hello there, GAFFERS!

Hop in my Waybackmachine and lets look at how this thread was all the way back, 1 MONTH AGO (3/1/2020)!

What was the world like back then? Who was posting? Let's find out!

In all honesty. No matter which country, but do you expect cases go. Beyond a mil somewhere?

I think they will stop reporting nukbers at some point either becuase ut doesnt matter ir no teet kits

Even some news media will get tired of reporting numbers as news beyond a point. This will no longer be news anymore so not sure if we would even learn that it hit a mil anywhere.

We're almost there FAM! Didn't quite get to a milly in a month, but damn close. 2M when? At least it doesn't appear that they're stopping reporting on cases, though I do know some areas are not bothering to test anymore due to its pervasiveness in the community.

Coronavirus death toll in Iran climbs to 54
The number of people who have died from the coronavirus in Iran has risen to 54, Iran's Health Ministry said on Sunday, according to state media.

I still don't believe Iran! Their daily death numbers make zero point zero percent sense. There is no way their case count could be expanding as it has with the same static level of 125-150 deaths per day. Unpossible!

I guess a month ago was prime Just The Flu, Bro™ time.

That is so true. It just can't be repeated often enough. COVID-19 is not the pest. Due to the media reports, which need every click to make money, the whole situation is exaggerated about 100 times.

There could just as well be headlines such as: "Every day there are significantly more cases of people healed than newly infected people" or "Number of newly infected people in the worst affected areas is stabilizing" and many others, but you just don't earn money with that.

"COVID-19 is not the pest"! While I agree bad news sells, I am pretty sure COVID-19 is, indeed, a pest.

I know it is said a lot here but I still have seen no evidence of this being more dangerous than any regular flu but people seem to panic and media is kinda overblowing it.
Am I missing something? Normal flu kills tens of thousands each year apparently?

To be fair, a month ago, everything did look calm (except for those of us crazy enough to be shouting about it to anyone and everyone).

35 cases! Numbers I see now are like 29K! 35 -> 29,000 in a month.

I'm not sure I can see this spreading far and wide in the US, but it seems to wreck shop in small confined areas like hospitals and schools. Seems almost tailor made to wipe out nursing homes.

Okay, even I can be wrong it seems :) OOPS!!

Remember remember, the 1st of March-vember... man, look at these case numbers! What a difference a month makes. Where will we be on 5/1/2020? Will our current 900K look like a joke then?

Man if I could go back to the 1st of March knowing what I know now I would have gone out and partied hard for a week straight. My wife would have ended up leaving me but its fine, at least I could then quarantine in peace.

I get im very fortunate and life is hard... But damn thats a lot of people who cant survive two weeks no pay, these people would be f****ed if a real emergency hit.

Many of my coworkers are having the same problem. :( I fully understand not having funds to survive 2 or 3 months.... but 2 weeks? Damn.

What? Isnt a roof over your head the first thing you need? How are you cooking anything without a place to cook it?

tbh that seems like a reasonable number, even large corporations have shown they can't handle any type of major emergency financially.

The world is all one huge chain of debt and dependency when it comes to money.

Now the chain is broken everything is at risk of collapsing.

It seems like they are pulling military assets close to the country. The drug trafficking sounds more like an excuse to have our navy close to home and deployed.

Great video. As it showed, masks can prevent spread quite effectively, which is particularly useful when most people who are contagious have no idea that they are.

Meanwhile, a lot of the Japanese Internet is shitting on the Abe government for their announcement that they are sending out 2 reusable cloth facemasks to 50 million households. While probably not enough, it's still a very good step in the right direction to limit the spread.

as long as it reduces the droplets or viral load a bit, its better than nothing, right?

She's hot.
Hell yes she is.

Well better than nothing!

Off-topic, but I'm listening to the White House press conference in the background... and... what's all this stuff about deploying the Navy to fight drugs? They're not about to go invade Venezuela to take Maduro out something are they?

This, this and this . We are being lied to.

I mean... kind of sort of. Masks will have very little benefit for the average person unless everyone is wearing them. If we had the supply and governments put out mandates that everyone must wear them outside the home, then it would be a good idea.

This mask stuff is too fishey.

Why were being constantly told masks don't help or not to go get masks?

Even 2 months ago I was looking on Amazon and there was shortages.

And how can the Dutch and Korean's be able to have masks for everyone and their health care workers, but the rest of the western world is out of masks in like 3 weeks and has to tell people not to buy them out of shortage fears.

There is really something fishy going on with masks. I think China cover up, WHO, and masks(PPE) are going to be 3 big scandals that are going to come out once the dust settles on the pandemic.

Full warnings....This is fucking grim...

And Ecuador say they have 2300 cases and 79 deaths.

Thats why this scoreboard we ghoulishy watch each day is all but useless.

In 12-24 months from now we are going to know the real extent of this virus and laugh (and cry) at the stupid numbers we were hanging off of as if all these governments around the world would tell us the truth.

An old article but makes me think

Iran also lied and covered up and is still covering up (lol copy and pasta their death numbers) CCP virus. Iran also allies of CCP.

Ya maybe CCP tell its buddies to cover up CCP virus too.

I have a Chinese coworker with family in Hong Kong, and he was clearing out our Home Depot/Lowes in January/February sending the masks home. I should have taken a hint.

Someone posted something in here a few days ago that I can't find right now, but apparently this was a huge thing in Australia at least. I believe the report said that like every Chinese company suddenly made it their top priority to raid the country for medical supplies and ship them back home. It sounded insane, but I'm seeing a lot of corroborating evidence from other parts of the world.

Unbelievable. This is getting scary.

Even housemade masks would be worth it so everyone could wear them. They need to be mandatory
