The quarantine 'stuff to watch' recommendation thread

Mayans MC, Sons of Anarchy, Billions, Bosch, Narcos, El Chapo.
I think you'd really enjoy Bosch.
I watched one episode of Bosch I think, didn't really feel like watching more... not a fan of Narcos or El Chapo... Sons of Anarchy is that group of motorcycle dudes right? Meh
thanks for putting the alienist on my radar, metal

looks awesome, i'm gonna watch it tonight
Oh you won't regret it, it's awesome. Can't wait for S2.

Movies about seclusion and isolation:

Oldboy
Castaway on the Moon
Rear Window
The Shining
Cube
Moon
Solaris (Tarkovsky)
Blindness
The Quiet Earth

Here's some documentaries. Most of them are like longer miniseries things.

The Killing of America
Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes
Cold Blooded: The Clutter Family Murders
The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst
Crystal Lake Memories: The Complete History of Friday the 13th
Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy
Abducted in Plain Sight
Evil Genius: The True Story of America's Most Diabolical Bank Heist
Capturing the Friedmans
Paradise Lost Trilogy
O.J.: Made in America
The Seven Five
One Minute to Nine

oh and The Sopranos of course. Greatest show ever.

For tv shows - Narcos, Black Mirror, The Wire are all very good. Popular but for those that haven't tried them, now would be a great time to try.

I can tell you what to skip. The Man in the High Castle. Goddamn that 4th season was some bullshit.
The Man in the High Castle is my favorite novel from Philip K. Dick. When I heard they were doing a series I promised myself to stay away from it at all costs. Hollywood has basically dumbed down and destroyed every one of the PKD's stories they have tried to bring to TV. I've never seen such a shit treatment of such an amazing author, Hollywood is the worst. The only one that can be saved is Blade Runner and it's basically because they made their own story for the movie and just got inspiration from the book.

Rewatch some classics on Netflix. Wayne's World is being added next week, in sub-HD.

Or classics like the Terminator films, there's two of them. Terminator 1 and Terminator 2. I forgot, they did the Sarah Connor Chronicles which fucking rocks. But they never made another film after T2 unfortunately.

Like a bunch of other people I'm doing a Sopranos rewatch. Off the top of my head at the moment my watch list is Mad Men, Halt & Catch Fire, The Leftovers, The Expanse and The Young Pope.

It's a remake in the US of a Swedish or Danish show, the original is on Netflix but never watched to advise if it's as gritty as the US ver but probably worth a shot if your into true detective

Midsomer Murders is a great English detective show. whole series seems to be free on youtube.

Based off what you listed in the OP I recommend Dark from Netflix with German dubs. You should go in 100% blind, don't even read an episode description.

Thank me later.

Watch "The Vietnam War: A film by Ken Burns" its on Netflix and it will give you 14 hours of quality entertainment. Im so glad I watched it, definitely one of the most crazy and interesting stories I have ever seen. Can't recommend it enough.

Fucking yes, will see this, thank you!

Movie gaf, I've I'm ashamed to say it but I've never seen Slither. Is it a good horror film for quarantine? Is the hype real on this cult movie?

For anyone who enjoys sitcoms, Netflix just picked up Community. Some episodes are better than others, but there are some pretty good ones throughout the series.
