To further expand on this N95 masks are the best protection we have when caring for a patient with Coronavirus. We got our shipment of them yesterday in my building. For 30 Nurses we have 20 masks if we get a case of Covid in this building. I mentioned earlier our other building we have cases already. We have people hoarding masks that they don't really need when they should just be isolating at home. I don't know if anyone has checked ebay lately.

I hope it was worth it bigmoneyshawn.

I would be in full favor of putting out bounties on these people. Dead or alive.

Just like the masks what a shocker.

HQ is an old and cheap drug. Baer donated millions to the US. TEVA sent the US 10 million pills.

So let me guess we will here how HQ isn't effective, don't take it, only leave it for the doctors/health care officials. And in 3 weeks the US will be out bidding France and grabbing HQ pills of tarmacs.
I doubt India would lift the ban that easily, with about 1.3 billion citizens.

And I don't see how you can call a plan to quarantine NY moronic and in the same vein call for a national lockdown.
Don't feel too bad about it.
The President of the United States needed multiple people to explain it to him, and it still took him a whole day.

The gist of it is: Restricting travel from NY this late in the process was going to achieve nothing.
A nationwide lockdown would have the whole country on the same page, would create a unified message, would show people how serious the situation was, and would prevent morons like DeSantis from killing innocent Americans with their stupidity.

Things are likely to get very scary the longer we shut down society, which is why people are buying guns. That's why I bought one at least.

What's more scary is first time gun buyers with things going on shutdown.
  • You need to practice to be proficient
  • You should probably get trained in gun safety, which these new folks probably won't do
  • Panic-buying a gun is a huuuuuge liability, imho...

Doesn't have anything to do with that. It's just that people think if there is a shortage of goods, a loss of security from authorities, they'd rather have firearms at home.

I'm a hunter and have firearms at home, and glad I do.

Agree this is what could cause fatal accidents

Dont you need a firearm license first before you can buy a gun?
At least over here thats the case

its not. please don't get wind up into paranoia from the media.

under a crisis like this is when it is most likely they will shut down gun shops. in that case better get yours while you can.

we are watching the bedrocks of society crumble before us, all stores are closing down, police are admitting they won't be available for certain emergencies, self safety is the prime issue of the day.

it is for self defense ffs nobody is "shoting others jist because they caught..." outside of your fanciful brain

Its more selfish if people just buy it because the president said it would work, and then not use it properly and get even greater health complications. Im all for using it to fight the virus obviously, but you still need medical assistance, not just rush to the pharmacies and get it "just in case".

Had he been quiet, he could have supplied the hospitals with it and doctors would give it when people needed it, instead of yelling that he found the cure and telling people what it is. This creates an unecessary demand for something that people do not need, nor understand, creating shortages for the people that need it.

The fishtank story is pretty ridiculous but people are quite stupid on average, and this can only do more harm than it does any good.

Well no one should be idiots and start taking medication on their own. And yes those people are stupid but that has nothing to do with Trump, that just has to do with people being greedy dumb idiots. Its the same people who go out and bought all the TP. And Trump never said it was a "cure" nor did he tell people to rush out and buy it. And all this information is public knowledge so if anyone wants to go and buy it they could be doing so without Trump.

This is just getting retarded. There is a good theraputic that MAY work (but may and probably wont) but somehow we gotta find some crazy fault with it and find a way to spin it as a negative on Trump.

How about we blame Chinese and French doctors since they were doing studies on it and published these findings. Its there fault. But that sounds stupid.

I see the shortage argument trotted out, but we are in a pandemic that has brought the world to a halt. Possibly causing shortages for a drug that we can produce in the 100's of millions should be the least of our concerns when it comes to finding something that could help stop the pandemic.

Yeah, I wish I had been properly trained on guns before this. I'd like to get a shotgun now but I have never used one.

Here's what I'm talking about

I bet China's delighted with the situation.

If the Canadian healthcare system is so great why didn't they already have the masks? What horrible mismanagement!

I get that it is a tense situation for them, but the same language used against Trump applies to the rest of the world. Canada was obviously unprepared too, as was almost all of Europe. Hopefully this burst of competition flares up some nationalism and isolationism in these countries and makes them want to be self-sufficient.

And this thot doesn't visit the south, where most of the urban communities are black and brown (what about yellow? bigot).
she is part of the political establishment, which considers the south as full of idiotic racists. they will rant all year long about poor stupid idiot poor southerners. the fact that 55% of minorities live in the South escapes them entirely.

unless they are the Esteemed Black Voters of South Carolina picking Joe Biden, of course. then we can pretend that we all value and listen to the South. what a wonderful community they have down there, once every 4 years.

We were busy sending 16 tonnes to China. But remember then they send us back supplies, even put up some photos on twitter and everything.

Genius Trudope in action.

If you still needed a reason to ignore Vox:

It's so prima facie dumb that I can't believe anyone ever bought the whole "masks don't help" BS, especially when they throw in other info like "it only helps healthcare workers on the front lines" - really? Why is that? Does the mask conduct an interview before use and ask the owner what their occupation is and tailor its efficacy based on the response? Yes, you can put up all the graphics you want of the size of viral particles and the typical porosity of various scarves/masks, but obviously no one with any sense is saying that masks (any kind of mask, be it N95 or anything below that) will 100% protect you, only that they're beneficial to varying degrees. To state otherwise and suggest that "they don't help at all" is just utter stupidity to the point where I wonder if the folks who continue to peddle it are just doing so for their political/institutional allegiances (and in many cases this is obviously true).

At least I can somewhat understand the CDC/Gov't saying there's no need to use masks, because they wanted to preserve the supply for those who most need it and likely realized there was no other way to ensure that in the short term if their official guidance to the public was to use masks. Not sure if they ever said they were ineffectual, though (one is outright misinformation, the other not). Maybe they did, maybe they didn't. But these media outlets and "independent" reporters who peddle clear falsehoods have no excuse. The message from the beginning, both from the government and "independent" media, should have been that yes, masks offer varying degrees of protection, but that in this time of national/global emergency we need to ensure that those most vulnerable and most exposed on the frontlines have an adequate supply. Talk to people like adults and respect their intelligence and generally they'll respond well. And yes, the gov't should have started the process of procuring these masks for healthcare professionals and shoring up the supply line much sooner.

Let's be honest, a lot of them will end up shooting themselves or a family member first.
Damn, that's dark, but funny.
If this is the first time you're buying a gun, it's probably going to do you no good.
If you end up needing to use a gun in this situation, the country is seriously fucked.

I'm very happy that New York announced free food for anyone who needs it. That will hopefully prevent violence barring catastrophe.

Some states mandate safety training (ie. read a booklet and take a multiple choice exam), but a lot do not.

California -
  • Obtain safety certificate (see above)
  • Fill out form
  • Provide ID and pass background check
  • Wait 10 days
  • Purchase or show-up with a gun lock
  • Pick up gun
Texas -
  • Fill out form
  • Provide ID and pass background check
  • Wait 10 seconds (ok...maybe a slight overexaggeration)
  • Pick up gun

Of course they are, they have their useful idiots with the elected globalists.

What's Trudeau going to do, dress up as a military commander... in blackface?

Don't they consume US products? US entertainment? US Tourism? Aren't they a big chunk of the US and general western economy?

Of course he didnt tell people to get it and take it, but thats what would obviously happen. Im not trying to spin it as a negative on trump, only someone who is oblivious to the current world situation wouldnt see how this would influence the public, it is obvious that if you have a president shouting to millions of people, that this is a possible cure for the problem we are currently facing would lead to a massive wave of buyers, you cant deny this.

Most of the people buying TP are trump supporters, hearing him say this is a possible cure is like throwing gasoline to a fire.

He talks too much, and in this instance he should have stayed quiet, but then again, I highly doubt he thinks through what he says, its clear he says something one day, and the next day he says he didnt say it and tops up by saying he knows about it more than anyone else in the world.

Why are regular adverts on the TV and radio still? If shit is serious the ad break should be the government stance on this issue and not advertising cereal, Easter eggs and sanitary pads. They need to hit the message home hard or not bother.

Yeah, it would be a shame for the people of Canada if their globalist puppet cuts off their supply. We can make our own maple syrup and TPB will never be the same without Mr. Lahey, RIP John Dunsworth.

I wonder what is going to happen when this hits Cuba. I hope someone uses the opportunity to reveal the big lie of their "world-class" healthcare, but the average citizens are going to suffer severely in the decrepit, dirty hospitals they are limited to.

Michael Moore is on the case!

I don't believe 3M. There have been people looking for months, and told they are shipping out of the country.

That list is probably: Canda, Latin America, China.

I bet the China order number is quite high. We will see.

Probably, but 3M responded WH...

TLDR: 3M claimed WH is too stupid to understand how economy works in a very polite way...

Sorry you went off the deep end saying TP hoarders are Trump supporters. You have 0 way to know this, especially since a lot of TP hoarders live outside the US. That famous video of the 3 ladies is from Australia not even the US.

The idiot who took the fish cleaner? A DNC and Hillary supporter.

And yes you are basically spinning this to a negative on Trump. You are looking to find any reason to bash this thing he said might work simply because Trump said it. Now Trump is causing people to buy all of these drugs and all the TP.

But this really got far from the point. Saying there might be shortages for people with RA or Lupus isn't a reason we should stop trying to see if HQ and Zpacks can work and is very selfish of those people to say when we are fighting the worst pandemic we have come across in 100 years.

And to basically bash a potential treatment because Trump touted it is even stupider. I think the TDS heads want it to fail and would rather see people die than Trump being right on an offhand comment that a promising drug could be a game changer. (and BTW I am still a skeptic on this drug).

The mask issue is complicated. Yes, N95 will work better than normal masks, but those should be prioritized for our front line health care workers. Yes, it's more effective for infected to wear the mask than non-infected, but given the long period of asymptomatic spread, we can't tell who is who.

This article has good, comprehensive info.

Despite decades of commercial blockage and economic war, Cuba has an admirable healthcare system. They sent doctors to help the italians first than most first world nations. They also received a Cruise ship with infected spanish people that several countries rejected.

6 deaths and 200-smth cases so far.
