Coronavirus school closures to continue statewide through the end of the school year
The closures were supposed last until at least April 24, about six weeks, but state schools chief Chris Reykdal has repeatedly stressed the shutdown could last longer.

This is really frustrating. WA Governor Jay Inslee currently has a "stay at home" order in place through May 4th (already extended once) and now he just cancelled the remainder of the school year, which I'm assuming means he's going to be extending that stay at home order again very soon.
Seems like a ridiculous thing to do so preemptively. Every school district in the state, I believe, is engaging in remote learning, but they shouldn't just up and cancel the reopening of schools until they see how things are in May. What they should be doing is looking into extending the school year through what would be summer break to make up for lost time. My son is in Kindergarten and this really sucks.

I imagine it's easier to plan for the rest of the year now if you know it'll all be remote. Trying to play for a month remote and then MAYBE back in school for a month would probably be a logistical nightmare.
I don't like that it's done for the year, but I get it.

Yeah there are probably tons of people that were hired during various previous administrations. He should have commented on the story rather then making it about Obama. He could have just said it takes time to mass produce the tests so quickly and they are getting better each week.

It's frustrating that they try so hard with their gotcha sound bites, instead of asking real questions about how our first responders are being treated with horrible protocols.
Now this is not Trump's fault, this has been going on in hospitals and medical centers for decades now, but addressing that a national TV could shine a spotlight on it opening everybody's eyes who don't have contacts within the industry, and get the federal government to comment and potentially act.

It actually doesn't. That's just how long it takes to absorb into the bloodstream. It then has to reach the cells to start working, and you likely wouldn't notice a dramatic effect for at least a few doses.. Improvement in a mattor of hours is almost certainly placebo.
