After meeting someone who doesn't enjoy videogames at all, I wonder if my previous interest in finding a mate that shared my hobby was misguided.
It's really nice to just be left alone to enjoy your games in peace while your SO enjoys something else. I wonder how couples who are both big gamers do things, like one couple I know both loved FF7 when it came out originally, I'm sure they are playing Remake. Who buys it? Both of them? Do they play it separately on different TVs? Together on the couch? Sounds like a pain in the ass.

It’s not good to date someone that’s just a reflection of yourself and has the exact same interests as you. It’s good to have time separate from each other and not rely on them for all of your leisure time. A friend of mine would date girls just because they play games or like the same movies as him and it never works out. It’s good to share some interests, but it shouldn’t be the foundation of your relationship.

My wife has played some games in the past, she loves Yoshi games and has played various Nintendo party games with me and family over the years. I picked up Animal Crossing for the kid, I really think my wife would enjoy it so hope she gives it a go.
I think she was trying to charge a GB SP or a DS or a 3DS recently to play something but not too sure if she found the proper cable and as I am hardly home I couldn’t help her find one.

We don't "need" more women, it won't change anything really. And the chances of hooking up with someone through a chat forum is probably very low.
I thought I would need a partner that loved video games but it turns out that I don't. I'm quite happy that my wife doesn't play games and I can play them in peace, mostly. I liked to be immersed in my single player games and having a commentator would eventually annoy me. The only thing we play together is Overcooked and that's A-OK. I'll try and get her to play the Lego games next but if she doesn't care about them than it's no big loss..
