Why would women play video games when they can go out on dates and meet dudes that do cool stuff and want to give them attention? I think males like video games more, but I think women have more interesting things to do. Assume for a second that you were a straight women, can you see the appeal of going on dates and getting free dinners, and each man you do this with opens up to you, and you get to learn about their lives while they are trying to impress you?
If we could look at a parallel world where everything was the same but we were born the opposite gender, I bet most of us wouldn't even be on this forum, we'd probably be doing most of the stuff that women are doing now instead of playing video games.

You make it sound like dates are always an enjoyable thing, even if the guy pays for the entire meal. Trust me, based on what I've heard from a few of my female friends, this is NOT the case. Not every guy is fun to be around or interesting. Not to mention most women aren't going on dates every single night, they do have free time in which they can do other things. Like 15% of my PSN friends are female friends/co-workers and most are on regularly. One of them right now is even further ahead on FF VII Remake than I am.

You sound like you don't understand the typical male experience. Yeah women have bad dates, it's the fact that they have social currency to begin with. Guys must do something to get social currency for people to be interested in them. All of the things a guy can do to get people to have an interest in him and his experience takes lot of time and effort. For a young man, especially if they do not grow up well off, there will often be a huge portion of their young adult life where no one has really any interest in them. This is a great time to play video games, which are made to appeal to this group of people that have a lot of free time on their hands.
If most of these guys were born female, they would have a greater interest in socializing, and from an early age people would have taken more interest in them and given them more opportunity to develop social skills. They would end up being interested in typical girly stuff, and a few would become gamers.
If you want to look at it from an RPG perspective, women by default have a fairly big charisma bonus, and they have some stats that will often regen when they use this skill, whereas men have a baseline charisma skill and unless they put a lot of points into it over time or their other stats are good they are just as likely to lose points when they attempt to use the charisma skill as they are to gain them. That doesn't even get into all of the cultural messaging that exists that is highly counter-productive towards producing psychologically healthy males.

To sum up my viewpoint,
1: Women on average derive more pleasure from social interactions than men. For this reason they will engage in it more, and will often be better at it than men of a similar level of intelligence.
2: People are more interested in socially interacting with women than men, so women have more opportunities to develop their social skills, which is something they already want to do.
3: Playing video games is often a time consuming task that is designed to cater to men, because they have a lot of free time at certain stages of their life and will buy these video games as a form of escapist entertainment.
4: Men will generally have poorer social skills, and in many cases people feel threatened by them in social situations where they would not have felt threatened by a woman. For this reason young men are often discouraged from participating in social interactions. Their interactions with others will often be negative, further encouraging them into hobbies or interests that you can do alone.
5: Very few people want to interact with young men compared to young women. Young women are more attractive, and may have better social skills. Young men have had no chance to accomplish anything of note, so even if they do everything right no one will be particularly interested in them in any way that is comparable as to the level of interest they would have if they were a young woman. This gives young men plenty of free time to study or play video games.

A large female gamer userbase on a video game forum in 2020? Nah, not happening. Believe it or not, in most gathering events that are centered around video games/anime/general nerdy stuff, the female presence is pretty high. I find that anime has a much higher female population than video games ever will, though. Videogame events definitely have their fair share of female attendees though, but with a forum i'm not too sure it'd make a difference whether there were girls here or not. Go outside if u wanna meet a gamer grill.
