All Hail C-Webb

Hailing from the Chill-Web
Saw that New York study article earlier today on Twitter...

Seems like a lot of these antibody tests are starting to show some interesting results.

3,000 random customers at supermarkets seems like a pretty sound sample... if anything, it would probably be biased toward people who don't think they have COVID-19 since they're out and about at the supermarket.

Or it's an inaccurate representation because the people who are trying to avoid the virus are not going to stores.
My building is full of Instacart, Fresh Direct and Amazon Fresh deliveries, and I imagine the rest of Manhattan is similar..
We also know that the tests have accuracy issues.

Still, I think 10% - 20% in NYC is a good estimate, but that shows how herd immunity would be impossible to reach without overrunning the healthcare system.
It also shows how far less dense locations have to go. Upstate NY was something like 3%. Makes me really worried that Sweden is nowhere close to where they think they are.

How does it show that, especially if we're supposed to assume that most people were infected before the lockdowns began?

seriously this is how I feel right now

If I caught COVID19 on my few trips out to get food it sure i moving on me slowly
low to mild fever but today my chest feels like it is carrying lead weights and it is harder to breathe

Something is brewing but if I am wrong and go to the hospital I risk exposing myself to worst maybe.

But if this is Covid19 I am fucked since I am not feeling sick enough to move on this.

fuck Connecticut! Fuck CCP! Fuck WHO

No. Smoking weakens your immune system period. What you described was withdrawal symptoms. Next time you get seriously ill you may not be so lucky and you will most likely die because of your smoking. So think about that next time you want to pull the ol "so dose getting old" argument out the hat. If I was you I would be worried buddy especially since you got some scar tissue now.

It doesn't. Secondly, I was talking about when people quit smoking, and after a while they feel like they have a cold or the flu. That's the weakened immune system, which then returns to normal once the body has got used to having no nicotine in it.

So get over yourself. I'll leave it to the likes of you to worry about things.

Got no time for weak mindedness, nor mercuric personalities. Ain't nothing to worry about is it, if death is as natural as hunger if you recall saying the following. To quote yourself.

"Thats is exactly how I feel. Death is as natural as hunger, thirst, sex. If no one died the earth would have been over populated long..."

So why do I have to worry about something perfectly natural again? Plus I've had the virus already,

Does it burn in your upper chest area? Could be bronchitis.

Passed my 2nd wu-flu test this week because an untreated bronchitis (first doctor didnt want to give me antibiotics for it) was turning into a pneumonia.

Now I got my antibiotics and ready to roll.

The man really said inject disinfectant into the body............. lmao. When I hear shit like this it makes me worry how far we are from a vaccine or decent treatment. Sounds like they’ll try anything out of desperation. Hopefully that’s not the case.

No he was saying if its possible to use UV light or disinfectants to kill the virus because it stays on the outside of the cells. He wasn't saying to inject people with bleach. He was just saying that the DHS should share their findings with the medical community and see if it would help.

Either way the bigger news is the DHS findings confirming the reports from Yahoo. Sunlight killing the virus is good news. Think about how this will benefit farming. If its safe to be outside working the fields thats a big relief on potential food shortages.

It doesn't matter what he was saying. The fake news story of injecting bleach is the perfect distraction to the news that sunlight and heat can reduce the half-life of the virus.

Trump even called them out on that. That was the best part of the conference.

They didn't even care they just wanted to stoke division by talking about McConnell and Trump had to get them to actually report on the DHS findings. The press literally did not want to report on this news.

Oh... that was disappointing. It certainly doesn't sound like the much funnier version the guy wrote in the Tweet.

He definitely said those things. Watch it again. He's talking using UV rays (very harmful to skin) on the body and the second substance he is referring to ('kills it in a minute' ) is isopropyl. You can't make this up :messenger_grinning_squinting:

No, no he didnt. The video doesnt match that user's twitter message at all.

I dont know if that or the people agreeing about it in comments is worst.

There is at least one jump cut in the Twitter video. It sounds like both IR and UV can kill the virus, so he may have legitimately confused the two on the light front - most people don't know the EM spectrum.

Injecting alcohol on the other hand. . .at least that means Pelosi is safe from the Wu Flu.

No one is expecting Trump to figure out how to treat this thing. He's doing a good job with the overall US response to the outbreak--that's his job, and it's all that matters. He's clearly just trying to be positive but talking out of his ass...Not a big deal

I don't like the HCQ test he brought up. They had suspected cases so they didn't test positive, and they could of been hospitlized for influenza or pnemonia etc... The only thing I would take from the study was the HCQ and Zpack didn't kill anybody unlike other studies. So at the bear minimum this and Raoults study show that people aren't dying from this. I think anyone dying in the other studies would of died from the CV anyways.

lol jesus

He's old - he probably has one of those IR glove things they use for arthritis:

and thought that means that they can stick a IR light into the lungs and kill the virus. I don't think that would work, but it would not be harmful like UV obviously is. He's not a scientist, so I don't really expect him to really know the difference between IR and UV. Most business people I've worked with wouldn't.

The study gave the experimental treatments to the most critical cases and gave placebo to minor cases. It was flawed from the start.

Ehh... I dunno, man. I watched it twice, but going by Trump standards this seems pretty tame. He obviously has no idea what he's talking about, but heard some shit about things that have a powerful effect on the virus and said he wants the medical doctors to look into how it might be able to be used.

UV light is already the talking point in CNN all night. It will give the media something to talk about for the next week.

Is it a talking point because they believe that UV light is a made-up story?

So I'm really worried about this mask situation. For some reason when I cover my face It feels as if I'm suffocating and it's unbearable I don't know why this is happens.

So my point is what am i suppose to do if wearing one becomes compulsory in the UK.

You'll get used to it.

Yep, you will get used to it. After wearing one for 4-5 hours a day at work for the last 7 years I dont even feel it anymore.

So instead of standing up there sounding like an absolute buffoon, why the hell doesn't he let actual scientists talk about this? The guy sounds ridiculous. He should really stick to tearing apart the media, he kills it and that is far more entertaining.

Why did Obama talk about visiting the 57 states? He's not a geographer.

Every president says stupid shit with mixing up "low level" facts, as does almost every executive. If you ever have to give presentations to executives who are not active experts in a technical field you learn that you have to dumb down everything to "high level" summaries, and even then they tend to mix up small details occasionally. Him talking about IR, while it would almost certainly not do anything, is the kind of thing I'd expect.
