Come on now, don't downplay it to be just that. You know exactly what the criticisms were. You essentially sold a NeoGAF poster's post to Kotaku that they published, and retro-actively changed the site's terms and conditions to allow yourself to do it.

You were fine with being in bed with those media outlets when you were profiting from it financially.

I updated the terms of service about copyright licensing to clear up confusion from that point onward after Kotaku reproduced a gaf post with permission. Outlets have done that countless times without permission. It wasn't about Kotaku, it was about ensuring there would not be further drama about licensing rights to gaf posts. I didn't make any money from that and I've never been in bed with Kotaku, which should be clear enough considering they had a direct hand in the 2017 drama and propping up ResetEra.

I will take your word on the money thing, but the 2017 drama stemmed from this site going from being a SJW-infested shit-pile, to you being an the receiving end of a #metoo. I don't know for sure, but I doubt someone like Jason Schreier has posted on this site since then, but he was a regular contributor before that. You got hung out to dry by a bunch of people who uncritically believed accusations about you, but before that tipping point, they were fine with you. In fact, Schreier wrote off criticisms of you previous to that as "GamerGate nonsense".

And to be clear, I think you were a victim of being someone who was a target for both sides at varying times. Nothing you actual did warranted the way people treated you. That said, I think you're being disingenuous with your "journalists never liked GAF cos of how critical we were!" stuff.

Not asking for bans. I would have just liked a mod to step in and at least stop the personal attacks. And I feel like that isn't asking too much tbh. I just thought Gaf was the kind of forum where members insulting other members was frowned upon. I thought it was a bit more dignified than that.

Know what's peak dignity? Having polite conversation with other gaf members, but reporting their posts to try to silently get them banned while you continue those conversations. So many times that your reporting permissions had to be revoked.

Have you checked your testosterone levels lately? Duplicitous ultraweasel behavior may be indicative of low T.

Yeah and you guys revoked them without actually ever telling me the posts that I were reporting were not violating the rules. So I just went on reporting posts that I thought were in violation of the rules. It wasn't until much later that I realized that Gaf was nowhere near as strict as it used to be before the schism or as strict as some other forums that I have been apart of. And then you took the function away from me without ever actually telling me that you did it. I had to ask around to other members and mods to see what was going on. And once I was finally told when and why it was taken I explained my thought process and apologized for what I had done. But instead of returning the privilege to me (despite it being well over a year since you have taken it and me obviously understanding where I went wrong) you continue to just use it as a bludgeon to make fun of me whenever you want to since you know you can. And the funny thing is that even if you returned it to me it would be utterly useless to me because as you have already demonstrated in here the rules aren't really rules. They are more like guidelines. It just depends on who says what to who. Oh and if the person "deserves it" or not.



You always claim that Gaf is better than Era, but as far as I can tell you are no better than them when it comes to applying your own rules evenly. You play favorites just like them. The only difference is which "team" the favorites play for.
