No doubt! I find The Game Collection to be even better. My copy of MGS5 turned up a full week before release date. Cheap af too. PSN needs to sort out its pricing if it wants my £. £55 for TLOU2 is a piss take when it's available for £45 elsewhere.

Most things that go woke usually go full woke on the marketing. That's when it affects the sales, because people aren't interested in identity politics for entertainment.
Perfect example is some of the recent woke movies that bombed, like Terminator Woke Fate. They went full woke on the Marketing and no one was interested in that trash.
TLOU2 didn't go full woke on the marketing, so most people have no idea that it's full of agenda driven story telling. A lot of people are in for a massive disappointment.

I think people have to realise it wasnt necessarily the "wokeness" that ruined the last terminator movie. They have all been mediocre and trash after 2. The whole woke thing is also an excuse to give it just because it fuckn sucks generally. The Terminator franchise should have ended with 2, period. The Sara Conner was built and played a key role in the movie.

I think MS would look at it as a flagship title in getting their Gamepass service to a high subscriber threshold so the disappointing NPD results wouldn't be the whole story to them.

No. Animal Crossing is currently stomped TLOU2 from hourly based chart, monthly based chart, and yearly based chart.
That just OP tried to make positive spin for TLOU2 underwhelming preorder on amazon.
For example Smash Ultimate became the best seller of 2018 on amazon.com for video game before ~2 months from the release date while TLOU2 still not charted in top 100 yearly chart

Both movies were trash and everyone is to blame, no one sat down and had a meeting about spanning a story for three whole movies. I blame JJ for starting off with the same shit as a new hope and everything dived from then on, all three movies were ass and the characters sucked and werent memorable

I was one of the ppl tht didn't like uc4 pacing, even stopped playing it for awhile besides the mp that I love. I tried Lost Legacy and omg it was so good all around. It actually made me go back and finish uc4 and enjoy it. That jungle in lost legacy is a thing of beauty as well.

Personally, it was my favorite Uncharted after 2. It felt like a return to form, though obviously it's much shorter than a normal entry.

But you'd be fool thinking leaks won't hurt early sales . They will. But more significant impact will be on long-term sales (where first game flourished). I've seen hours upon hours of leaked scenes and I'm telling you, guaranteed, word of mouth will not be good on this one. There's just no saving grace.
Many bad games sold tremendously at launch like, for example, FFXV or RE6 but it didn't last once the word got out they were bad. There's still a lot of curiosity about Part 2 and, though hard to believe, not everyone is on twitter. Vast majority of people will go blindly into this.

The backlash for Disney SW started with TLJ. The film was expected to gross $1.8B, which was the "safe bet."
Then, after the big 2nd weekend drop, analysts still said it was guaranteed to hit $1.6B. In the end, it didn't hit $1.34B. Obviously, this was a disappointment for Disney, since they tried to retcon the film in the next one. Of course, the damage was done and that film wasn't very well received by many fans, too, so it didn't even hit $1.08B.
The point is, it's not so much about things completing flopping, but greatly underperforming. Companies want to make a good amount of profit off of their investment into a product, not break even or make just a small profit. Otherwise, continuing to invest in that franchise isn't worth it anymore.
As for TLOU2, we're just going to have to see how things play out. It could be like like FF7R. Some said the report of 3.5M shipped, plus digital sales, in the first week showed that many weren't upset about the changes to the story. Move on to the 2nd week and it dropped 90% in Japan to #2, 87% in UK to #4, to #4 in Italy, and to #5 in EMEAA. Obviously, quite a few weren't very happy with the changes.

Lost Legacy was the shit. Loved that game. i was hesitant as I didn't like uncharted 4 at all. But I'm glad I took the plunge.

Except Terminator Genisys broke even and did really well in China. Terminator Woke Fate, which had the added hype of Sarah Conners and James Cameron being involved again, flopped everywhere. Get woke, go broke is a true phenomenon. It doesn't have to see the product flop necessarily, but they always seem to underperform. And mainly when it's being forced into an already established franchise. The same can be seen with the horrible comic sales of late.

Well thats false because it didnt break even, it needed 450 mil to break even and was shy by either ten million, or global was 432,150,894. Technically Dark Fate was rated higher by critics and even fans, and even had s higher opening weekend than Genisys. The massive drop off prob had to do the same with the last jedi where fans felt much like Luke they did John dirty, thats not wokeness, thats story telling.
thats also false, i mean if your going spin a broke narrative how would you explain it to companies like: Gillette, Best Buy, Hulu, Netflix, Coca-Cola, Walmart, Appl, Youtube, Disney, Facebook, Microsoft etc. Plus a plentiful amount of successful movies as well that I dont know had actual good story telling and writing along with great characters.
