Microsoft Games Showcase Event Today (11am ET / 8am PT / 4pm UK)

They were largely responsible for that game being made at all
This is what people like to say, but you know that with the success of SF4, Capcom would have made the fifth game sooner or later.

But that's still an available business solution indeed.

Capcom themselves have said the game would still have been made, it just would have taken longer. Which itself is probably just damage control. The success SSIV had and they would have slowed down on SFV? Not likely.

Xbox back at it again carrying the gaming industry, you know since Sony became to cool to care and showcase games at E3 it basically falls on Xbox to lead everything. Phil put on his big boy pants and he hasn't looked back since, delivering W's for Xbox and MS.

I will call him Saint Phil from now on.

Wonder if Sony will try and spoil the party. They revealed the Dualsense controller one hour before the April Inside Xbox show.

That was real?! I thought that image was a joke.

just kidding

I couldn't give a fuck if they show gameplay of remastered Pong....it's better than nothing.

If they didn't have that day for showing gameplay, you'd just be wanking around all day and ending up with crusty underwear, so just appreciate it.

I hope ubisoft is going to optimize now better for loading speeds in there next game because of xbox series x support.

So there's a 99% chance the timing was coincidental and Sony just posted it, just cause it was convenient for them. Or there's a 1% chance Sony found an Inside Xbox shoe threatening enough to want to disrupt it. You be the judge.

Hype train! All board! Next stop....the FUTURE!

Hype+Train+2014

Ticket here, I need to come aboard the greatest ride ever or a behemoth of a train wreck. Gonna tranquilize MiyazakiHatesKojima MiyazakiHatesKojima and sneak him in via my very large suitcase, deep down he's excited.

Am I late for a ticket? Can't wait to see something, anything will suffice, just show us next gen (even cross gen would be fine, bas long as it's something new and better)

Hmm IDK seems like competing companies try to show up others events pretty often. IIRC Xbox revealed some stuff shortly before the PS5 logo reveal and again before Marks Road to PS5 talk. I like to imagine they have spys getting info on when the events will happen so they can plan to try and take some of the attention away. We'll see what happens on the 7th!

I'm thinking:

Assassin's Creed
Cyberpunk
Dying Light 2
Elden Ring
A couple of patched games (higher res, frame-rate, etc.)

Yeah, rumor was Sony had paid big time for a 1 month exclusivity for GTA 6 when it does hit the market.

What kind of timed exclusivity? DLC? and if it's the game itself, I highly doubt that. But I like to be proven wrong so can you post rumor source?

More like I think MS caught Sony off guard and Sony actually not ready at all. not showing any games not even the box means they have a problem.

Either that or they are waiting for both the last of Qu... i mean Us 2 and GoT out and have strong sales before they kill their hype with a PS5.

I feel like this would be a missed opportunity to just focus on third party games. Its the first event going in depth for next gen gameplay, all we've got up until now is some teasers, so everyone is gonna be watching, not just Xbox fans.

Show some Xbox exclusives while you got all eyes on you, even if its just a 1 min trailer for Halo Infinite gameplay that ends with, continue on June 14th or whenever the next event is.

I kinda doubt they'll tease first party stuff unless they have a date for the first party event

It was part of a PS5 pastebin post from december 2018, since then the leak has been debunked and proven wrong many times.

There's HUNDREDS of games to showoff, there's AAA, exclusives, third party, indies etc. not all of them will get a chance to shine at the showcase and Microsoft doesn't care about SONY's exclusives and frankly rolls their eyes at them, let's be honest you are watching this if Halo Infinite was confirmed.

I was thinking the other day that the "no-first-party" might actually be an interesting idea if you want to get the attention of users currently leaning to get PS5.
I mean, this show will be universally interesting, no matter which console you pick. It will show next gen games that will be on any platform for the first time.

This is what i want. Next gen gameplay. Not a Xbox fan but still this is awesome. Third party only? Good enough for me! At last!!!! Gameplay...

You know? I've been maintaining a strong support for Sony's lack of showing off games and business model for their next-gen system. It has always been about not showing their hands to the competition. But now I'm starting to believe that Sony has been too conservative, and is actually losing to the main competition. By not announcing their 3rd party games, Sony has allowed Microsoft to run video debuts with two of the biggest games this year, Cyperpunk 2077 and Assassin's Creed Valhalla, to give MS a heads up by announcing features like Smart Deliveries, which is something that sounds very interesting to me. To the masses so far, we know that we don't have to purchase these two games twice, yet, we don't know what's going one with Sony for the PS4 and PS5.

Should be banned for ignorant remarks like that 🙄. This place has really gone to shit.

Will watchdogs legion be shown ?
I doubt it. Sony had marketing rights for the two previous games plus Ubi partnered with Sony Pictures to make a Watch Dogs movie.

What I do expect from Xbox's event is gameplay of both Assassin's Creed: Valhalla and Rainbow Six: Quarantine, maybe even a brand new game as well.
We can only hope. Idk does a publisher usually show off more than 1 big game at a platform holders event? I can't recall.

There is a reason why they only show Third Party games. Just look how they revealed the specs with DF:

But up until now at least, the focus has been on the GPU, where Microsoft has delivered 12 teraflops of compute performance via 3328 shaders allocated to 52 compute units (from 56 in total on silicon, four disabled to increase production yield) running at a sustained, locked 1825MHz. Once again, Microsoft stresses the point that frequencies are consistent on all machines, in all environments. There are no boost clocks with Xbox Series X.

This was right before Sony revealed the PS5 and how their CPU and GPU clocks are variable.

There was a reason why MS stressed that there are no variable clocks and that everything is sustained at all the time.

There is also a reason why they focus now on Third Party Gameplay. Maybe, they want to show how third party games look like on their xbox series X and then, if Sony shows their third party games, people can directly compare, like they could compare XSX TFLOPs vs PS5 TFLOPs.

Wonder what we're going to see at this event considering it's all third party stuff?

Assassin's Creed is confirmed, but what else?

I'm hoping that WB games shows of something at the event? Maybe the new Batman game or that Harry Potter RPG.

There's no way to compare that until after launch. Why? Because the games shown during Sony and Microsoft's events won't be the same due to marketing partnerships with the publishers.

And let me tell you, there's no point in comparing the graphics of, let's say, Elden Ring (Microsoft) and the new Batman game (Sony) because those are two really different games made by two different developers.
