Does it bother you that Sony's event will be streamed at 1080p/30fps?

That will be the native output of most games anyways. I dont see how they could show it any other way.
The unreal 5 demo already only run at 30 and native 1080 juat upscaled to 1440p.
You just have to accept reality

Because apparently one or 2 devs couldn't capture 4k and send it to them due to work from home for 4 months now(either the capture card or upload internet or for many other reasons ) .the rest did. They dont want to make the stream switch from 4k to 1080 for few games and they want level playing field for everyone . Right after all will be posted in native resolution submitted by the devs . So we will know how many devs submitted 4k and how many submitted 1080 .

it would still be better to take a 1080p master, upscale it to 4k and stream at 4k or at least 1440p.

fast camera movement and fast moving fine detail on YouTube at 1080p is an absolute mess due to the low bitrate

You are spouting bullshit about blu ray quality and I'm calling it out. Don't be mad.

Look, evidently I triggered you by dismissing people who now consider the resolution/framerate of BD titles insufficient to be "chumps". Sorry if I hurt your feelings, but its how I feel. In much the same way that I think people who fixate on metrics like Teraflops and CU counts to be "chumps" also, because it betrays a lack of understanding of what's actually meaningful and important.

But anyway, sorry. And now with your tender pussy powdered, please feel free to ignore me, go piss on a sparkplug, or whatever floats your boat. I give zero fucks either way.

Ok so you are not only cluless but also oblivious, Thanks for clearing that up for everyone. Bye :D

1080p stream is annoying af in 2020 unless it's high bitrate, which it isn't on Youtube. 30fps depends. If the games shown run at 30fps anyways, then it really doesn't matter.

Likewise, since when was a streaming video, with YouTube's bitrate at 1080p, ever a fourth as good as a native Blu-Ray experience?
Actually yes. Netflix, Amazon Prime and Youtube have some of the best quality streams I have ever seen, even those at 1080p. I never would have imagined even 3 years ago that streaming quality would reach what it has. Not saying its better than bluray, but it can at least hang around.

Now, if I have a bluray disc and my streaming options are only 1080p then I will likely watch on the bluray. However, if there is a 4K/HDR streaming option and only a 1080p bluray I'd actually have to think about that.

However, 4K discs are the absolute king and will be my preferred movie watching format until that format is pryed from my cold dead hands.

Doesn't bother me in the slightest because I know the games will look great when I'm actually PLAYING them on my OLED.

I'll enjoy the show the second time around in its up-res 4K glory.

I do feel bad for the persons it does bother though. Sad.

I watch streams all the time, at the exclusion of Blu-Ray.

While that's true for Amazon Prime, Netflix and YouTube, the subject in discussion, are far, far below disc quality.

Pretty much this. Sony knows that a 4K stream will make it much more difficult for the average person to watch and they want maximum exposure and I think most people understand that graphic fidelity is going to be damn near impossible to do justice on a live stream event.

LOL, thats like saying aside from Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft nobody makes good gaming consoles.

It does not matter to me, we can tell the quality of the graphics even on that resolution, and we know you tube does not reflect the actual quality of the games. I just want to see them games!
I am more interested on the Tempest side of things.

Nope, I don't watch live shows anyway because of the filler stuff, I'll watch all the important stuff afterwards.

No. Get off your high horses. 1080p is still fantastic. Most people don't even have 4k monitors or whatever. The trailers will come out separate.

It's just a streaming consideration for the amount of people watching. I heard it would be posted in 60 later? So that's fine by me.

Nah, it'll look good enough, there's going to be better quality versions available after, and hopefully the lower utility will mean fewer hitches, drops and less artifacting.

Lol no.

Seriously, is this a question? I'm worried about the console design, games and price. This question sounds really dumb to me.

No big deal. I'd have preferred a 4K option but a professional 1080p event will exceed most of the streams we've seen recently.

I'm sure that higher quality trailers, etc will be made available after the event.

Heretic. Disgusting.

The only people concerned about this are console warriors trying to downplay PS5. We know we've been experiencing a worldwide reduction in YouTube speed rates, and Sony staff had to work from home using limited connections, much different from a local network. Besides, after the event there'll be 4k videos for the games shown.

I usually watch YouTube vids on my 4K TV but since this one will be 1080p max I'll watch it on my laptop otherwise everything will look mediocre.
O boy ...after the show they will put the gameplayvideo's on YouTube in 4k. Do you guys even read the comments about that in this OP?? Ore do you care about your own comment??

whatever trailers they show will be uploaded/released in higher quality shortly thereafter so its not a big deal.

I will probably be watching on my iPhone 11 which does not even have 1080p resolution. Sony said after the event the trailers shown will be in 4k on youtube. so you can watch the trailers later on your tv with the youtube app.
