See you Thursday, June 11 at 1:00pm Pacific time (9:00pm BST) for a look at the future of gaming

Quoting myself because some phlebs can't read. :messenger_persevering:
I went out and bought 24 bottles Heineken beer, along with KFC and some other stuff I'm all set.:messenger_beermugs:

You bought KFC for something over 5 hours from now?

You also reminded me that the KFC here sucks.

Never liked showing a game that's 3-4 years away.

Random Playstation stat: according to Wikipedia figures, all variations of each generation of Playstation home and portable console have sold through 581.4m units since 1994 :messenger_open_mouth:

It's none essential I would imagine. I'd like to buy a hard copy.
Over here in the Netherlands afaik shops never closed. There's just some restrictions to how many people are allowed inside at once and they have to stick to the required distancing range (1.5m).

No idea how strict it is in the UK though. I imagine it's similar?

Edit:

Nvm, shops did close for a short while.

OK, thanks. I'll ring around to find out. I just realised I posted this in the wrong thread. It was meant to be in TLOU2 thread. lol

"some old but made shinier stuff" You know, at this point Demon's Souls Remake seems all but confirmed but I hope it turns out Blue Point's game is actually something else. I just don't feel too much hype for a remake of the first in a variation of games I've played 4 times now.

You should be fine with any of them, but can't go wrong with Youtube, as it always provides the best options that broadcaster has available.
The last event that i followed was better on twitch tho...not a huge difference but still better.

Hi all – thanks for being patient and understanding while we rescheduled this PS5 event for Thursday, June 11 at 1pm Pacific Time / 9pm BST. We needed to step aside so key voices could be heard during this historic and important time.

Now that the event is confirmed for June 11, I wanted to add that this pre-taped program will be broadcast at 1080p and 30 frames per second. This eased the show's production process during a time when many of our team and developers are working from home. The games you'll see on Thursday will look even better when you play them on PS5 with a 4K TV, as you'd expect.

It's also best if you watch while wearing headphones, if you can — there's some cool audio work in the show, and it might be harder to appreciate if it's pumped through your phone or laptop speakers.

I think not showing in 4k 60fps was done to avoid criticism for not having all of their games run at 4k 60fps as their community said should be the standard when Xbox revealed games recently.

I think they know they are in the same boat as XsX and are trying to be underhanded about how they present that information. I know some of the trailers will be available in 4k so it will be interesting to see how many of those trailers involve actual gameplay.

I'm not saying they need to have 4k 60fps as the standard but that is the expectation based on recent reactions to the XsX games reveal. I understand that is not realistic because they have no control over most developers but that is the standard.

Sony should also feel comfortable in the fact that they are not held to the same standard as Xbox so whatever they reveal will make waves and blow people away.

Which one has the better streaming quality?

Yt?
Twitch?
Others?

Thanks.

Youtube, without question. Twitch constantly buffers and even crashes a ton on me, and the update for the video smoothing (to cut down on buffering) just makes things choppy as hell and still doesn't 100% prevent buffering. It's one of the worst programmed sites for video streaming I've ever seen in my life, completely embarrassing.

And my connection's nothing amazing, it's lame HDSL through Verizon, but on streams at same quality I never really have buffering (and have never had any crashes) on YT unless I was absolutely sure it was something outside of the website itself (ISP problems, bandwidth getting choked by other people on it) or on the streamer's end.

Mixer is pretty decent for me, though I think it ran better before one of the more recent updates. Still much better than Twitch, plus you get 60 fps options on content below 720p, which is nice. I think they're the only streaming platform which provides that option.

So Twitch can kiss my ass, I'm watching this on Youtube, or Mixer if possible.

Ok Sony you got me, staying up way past my bed time (midnight) for this and work at 5am, so around 3 hours kip . This better be worth it.

I was not expecting such an articulare answer, thanks dude.

Anybody watching the presentation clean or through other reactors?

I personally haven't watched an event without reactors for years now.

Will probably as usual first watch through the Easy Allies, then rewatch the jaded as fuck Giant Bomb guys and some others.

It'll be 10pm here when this starts and I have to start work at 6AM tomorrow. BUTFUCKIT! I will be witness to the glory that is Knack 3: The Knackening.

Im in Central time. I always confuse that pacific time is two hours behind me and not two hours ahead of me.

I hilariously thought that the starting at 1pm Pacific meant 11am central.

Just in case anyone was confused the times are:
4pm EST
3pm CDT
2pm mountain
1pm pacific.

Lol no prob; I could do a rant on how much I despise Twitch, but this is a day of hype xD

Watched Road to PS5 and Inside Xbox sans reactors, planning to do the same here. The only reactor I'd probably watch during it is DSP, for the worst of OK, Boomer™ style bad takes.

He doesn't do live reactions anymore tho, so that's that. And if he does now I usually watch people like Tevin restreaming him since it's funnier that way.

I'll be watching TheGamer2323 and his reaction. The dude cracks me up and his chat is hilarious.
