I was thinking of something like, there's a movie with a set plot-line, and maybe the viewer can control the camera to some degree, or move objects around in the environment or something. That, plus maybe a little of a choose-your-own-adventure thing going on, where the viewer has some control over one of the characters, and occasionally the other characters ask your guy what you want to do, and that affects the plot. Or there are portions of the game where you're allowed some freedom to roam and affect things, and your actions change the story after that. I see Pixar sticking to story-heavy things, not so much traditional games. Like Quantic Dream-lite games, for kids.

I'm impressed with Ratchet and Clank. Particulary with the motion blur, the particle effects, and the lighting. There's also this Boca type effect where weapon fire explodes behind ratchet, but are clear while the Back ground is blurred.
Particle effects:

You can see Ratchets shadow in the explosion that changes when he flies back. Very cool real-time and dynamic shadowing created by the explosion.

Okay, i'm still not sure WTF that Spiderman game is. Is it like a Uncharted Lost Legacy kind of deal? I am as impressed with GT7 as I was with Dirt on Series X, meaning that I wasn't really. It's a racing game, it's gonna look good. Let's be honest they've looked FANTASTIC for years now. Demon's Souls looks at lot better here than it did in the video, WTF, why not show this stuff in the video? Ratchet looks amazing! Come fight me if you don't think so LOL and of course there's Horizon. It looks great, I love the kind of cartoony look to it. It's "realistic" but also not, you know? KENA looks great. People say its generic, yea... sure... I still haven't heard a good argument as to why, but I get the "gut" feeling that you sometimes get.

Probably not, that's just Astro Bot, which is at heart made to pay tribute to PlayStation in reverent ways. (There's also the section in the same trailer where Astro is inside the PS2 interface and I think yanks up a console.) I'm not too familiar with the Astro games, but I believe Astro Bot's Rescue or one of the PlayRooms has other PlayStation tributes in it.

...Then again, maybe? It does say that the game's four worlds are "each based on PS5's console components." Maybe there's a BC World? (If so, buy the not-Digital Edition, just in case...)

While I think the console itself is the first PS "box" that I do not like aesthetically at first sight in well forever, I do appreciate the fact all of the games they presented were captured on PS5 and not PC bullshots... or seemed it like it was.

Real-time captures on the real console. No taken on high spec PC in Engine cutscene either. There was also plenty of gameplay shots in yesterday's presentation, what... does it look too good to you

The bitrate of the stream was a very good ad for the disc based version over whatever they sell you as 1080p/4K on streaming services.

No. I was disappointed like many others. The best looking game I saw was RE8 a multiplatform game. Many of the others are timed exclusives or indies.

Ratchet and Clank was really the only other one I was impressed with.
The Horzion 2 trailer was in engine cutscenes, which is far different that actual gameplay where u r in full control of the character.

Nice , even if it has not the next gen feel.
Don't get me wrong, it will be the same with series X.
Nicer, crisper , more fluid games with short loading time and better light system.
We will never have the same impact than 16bit -> 32 bit era or the jump of to 360/ps3 era.

PS4 was cutting it close but man PS5 and XSX are looking to be the first gen that truly looks indistinguishable from FMVs.

I almost wasn't even impressed seeing some of this cuz it just gave off an FMV vibe to me.

I mean we did see a LOT of in-game cinematics but it's not just that. A lot of it looks pretty unbelievable (in a good way) to me.

Ratchet look like straight up cg in these screenshot.

Also i'm very intrigued by little devil inside, i loved the trailer for that one.

It's funny how we all see it differently. To me, that was one of the worse ones. There were some awesome looking moments, but the gameplay snippets looked like basic ass current gen FFXV.

Games looked great. In line with what I was expecting. The amount of destructibility in Ratchet and Clank brought a smile to my face. I hope we see a shift back to environmental interactivity this gen.

RnC doesnt look this gen at all, nor does HZD

Yeah, Ratchet looks completely insane. When I watched it live in the stream, the really shitty compression made it (and really most of the games) look kinda unimpressive. But when I got the 4K trailers, god damn! Ratchet is insane!

Horizon also looked way better in the 4K trailer too. I have to assume the trailer had HDR too because those colors were popping like crazy compared to the shitty stream.
