Xbox showcase July 23rd

I played Perfect Dark for the first time a few months ago and really enjoyed it.

I miss objective-based FPS'. Modern ones all seem to be point-to-point missions.
 
I honestly hope this is FINALLY the big presentation Xbox needs to turn things around and not another one of those events Phil Spencer has ben overhyping for 3 or 4 years now before telling you to wait for the next one, which always he promises will be bigger.

Yeah, I don't get it either. Being hyped over nostalgia. I didn't even like the first one for N64 all that much and even bought it with my own money at its launch.

And even if we said that first one was amazing, the last time it was rebooted wasn't very good and I don't see much reason to just assume a 2nd reboot is worth being hyped for.

Hopefully they will make available an event viewer on Xbox using the Mixer tech.

I think people are excited about a new Perfect Dark because Perfect Dark is essentially just three pillars...

- Futuristic sci fi.
- Strong multiplayer component.
- Emphasis on gadgets and interesting weapons.

I don't care what it's called, but those pillars have me pumped.
 
My dream would be
Halo Infinite being a graphical showcase

Fable reboot very similar to The Witcher 3

3rd person Perfect Dark

A surprise like a Banjo with Pixar graphics

Hellblade 2 with a variety of finishers and better puzzles
 
Forza Motorsport 8 please.

Dynamic time of day. Dynamic weather. Ray-tracing. 120fps option.

More tracks. More cars.

Improved race regulations and strategy.

Improved physics modeling.

Let's see what an extra year + of development time made possible.

when Ryse came out I believe it ran at 720p on Xbox One so yeah...alot of its beauty was masked behind shitty resolution. Play it on PC, the facial animations and details in this game still blow áway almost every recent game that got released. Well, its from Crytek so

A whole generation of "next E3's" has built up to this point. Gotta blow it all out on this one. Now we wait for info on that 4k stream (crosses fingers).

For the franchise and the leadership within it Yes. If it's a dud or simply meh/Ok there is still a lot of good developers in that studio. Maybe the identity of 343 isn't meant to be Halo but an RPG, 3D platformer, action-adventure game or whatever else. MS gotta smartly let them spread their wings if it comes to that point.

The bottom one to me is hugely disrespectful, the image was created as I'm aware for medical staff at the start of lockdown as they are the "heroes" but people started replacing the medical staff with game characters etc, just seems distasteful for me.
 
I'm honestly surprised Obsidians new rpg will (apparently) be shown.

I figured they'd keep that, Coalitions game, InExiles game, Compulsions game and Project Mara in the tuck until around this time, next year.

You could've said the same thing before the launch of Killer Instinct 2013. Turned out to be one of the best fighters of this generation.
 
I would love to see some next-gen triple A RTS game, with full usage of modern PC, like we had before Supreme Commander or World in Conflict, both games were great tech wise. Come on Microsoft, do something beside safe and simple AOE4.

i just miss RTS genre being one of the top dogs.
 
I honestly would be shocked if the event will be viewed as a positive on here. But pleasantly surprised of course. MS just has a bad track record and even Sony and Nintendo usually blow these events.

Still waiting on a proper sequel to World in Conflict. Still play that on steam to this day. Especially now I came from a 989ti to the 2080ti my shot don't drop down to 23fps from explosions 😂 Both WiC and Supreme Commander were the Crysis versions of RTS power hogs.

Yeah it's absolutely gorgeous. I think people need to take a trip back down the PS4/Xbox One libraries (particularly first party) before claiming that next gen titles somehow look next-gen. I'm not impressed so far.
