I'm still just sitting here waiting for the surgery. Supposed to be last night but there was a miscommunication and I was given food right before they wanted to do the operation, so it was pushed to this morning, and I think I keep being pushed further back because of more important trauma cases that come in. Plan is for surgery tonight though, here's hoping! I appreciate the concern

If all goes well it should be like 3-4 day stay afterwards while the lung gets back to normal. Last time I had this procedure it was 8 days becsuse the lung kept leaking air. You're bed ridden most of the time but they make you go on walks around the building you are in, you have to hook your chest tube to a suction machine that you throw on a little cart and push around lol, its like a super loud air compressor and whenever you walk to a new area everyone is staring at you becsuse of the noise lol. But yeah all in all its not so bad, could be a lot worse.

Anyone interested in a writer's group type of thread? Updating each other on our goals, word counts, drafts, rewrites, maybe submit some work for criticism for those who are comfortable enough. We can encourage each other to meet our goals and prod when we're slacking. Could be helpful. I feel like it's pretty niche. Don't know if it'll have much activity, but what do you guys think?

Personally, I wouldn't post my actual work here. Others are free to do so and we can offer critique. I just think it might be helpful from a productivity standpoint if we're keeping each other responsible. Making sure we're not slacking. Call-out culture being used for good.

Nope. Always been interested in it, though. My biggest form of encouragement came from Highschool English class where I'd get 100% on every creative narrative writing assignment (of course, subjective based on my teacher's tastes). Haven't had the force of will to finish anything outside of academia though.

Eventually you will have to post whatever you wrote online, share it with a friend or you'll have a harder time growing. Make short stories in your spare time. About literally anything. Write a review on a gadget to gauge yourself.

This is starting to try my patience, they're telling me I'm possibly being pushed to tomorrow now. Can only have 1 visitor every 7 days. Up since 6 am waiting for surgery and/or food and water. Ugh. I recently came across that Jocko podcast and have been watching it today. Trying to stay positive and think about silver linings and improvements. That "Good" video that he did is fantastic.
Tetris Dx piece randomizer is starting to feel evil. I like the "bag" system that the modern games use much more than the old attempts at randomness (bag system pulls up a "bag" of all 7 tetriminos and then hands those out at random, and when they are gone, the bag is refilled and the process starts again) . There are arguments for and against, but I like not having really long I piece droughts. With the new system you develop a sort of sixth sense for when you will get certain blocks.
