Yes. I'm not sur eit's a good idea. If the XSX doesn't sell well, publisher will prioritize the PS5 and the XSX will be behind again.At least, it should not be as bad as the Xbox One as the console has some good argument this time against the PS5.
 
That shit was lame. I really thought that they would have looked at the criticism they got from the last showing and pivoted to a gameplay focused event. They didn't change the format at all, like at all.
 
BTW as always Aaron Greenberg and Phil let down with their "oh after Sony's presentation we feel good about the games we are going to show" really? 😂

They showed too much of nothing, barely any gameplay, 10 second cgi trailers, and the whole format of this presentation is a copy of Ps5 presentation trailer - console shots - developers rinse and repeat.

They would have done better if they had not made a conference, at least we'd still have high expectations like we did 2hrs ago, but after this, everything they showed looked current gen and didnt generate any hype, just destroyed the little hype there was.
 
That was a horrible show. Almost all CG trailers and Halo looks far from a next gen game. I'd be concerned about Microsoft's 2021 lineup because games like Fable, Everwild, Hellblade 2, State of Decay 3 and more are all years off.

Out of the 10 excluives titles iam only interested in State of Decay 3 but they have to prove that they did it better than State of Decay 2
Out of the 22 console launch exclusives.... there are like 3 games i would like to play.... but they will appear on PS 5 too.


Nothing to make me buy a Xbox. They didnt even proof that they can do better than PS 5

You know overall id say it was ok. I think the problem is that I'm older, more jaded, and I've played so many fucking games that it's hard to be impressed by this stuff. I mean I'm sure I'd have fun playing the majority of these titles (and they're all coming to gamepass so yeah I'll probably play most of them), but I feel like I keep chasing that wow factor that I haven't felt since I was a kid. I guess I'm an addict?
 
I think Microsoft are probably never going to go all in on big studio productions to the extent of Sony I really thought they where moving in that direction in concert with cornering the new "subscription model" that they have pioneered, would have been a devastating combination

But as a value proposition an Xbox with Gamepass is as good an offer that you will find in he biz

I still feel they could be more aggressive 1st party wise, feel they're being a bit too safe in that area

Precisely and that's what I'm gonna do....on PC...no need to rush out becauseh There is nothing here leveraging the power of the XsX which is what I came to see. NOTHING.

And we all know Forza is running on PC otherwise they would have declared it as XsX.

The reality is it seems these studios really are going to be restrained by lockhart. Can you believe how current gen this showcase looked? Some of it looked pregen lol!
 
How could anyone even say this was on par with Sony's conference? I'm no PS fanboy and I don't even think their conference was anything fantastic, but this conference was straight garbage. After a (personally disappointing) Halo gameplay reveal, it was literally nothing but bland CG trailers or uninspired indie games for like 30-40 minutes straight with the obligatory forza. Stalker 2 and Psychonauts 2 were the only vaguely intriguing games, and one of them isnt even an exclusive. Sony at least had several of its big first party games represented (Horzion, LittleBigPlanet, Ratchet, Gran Turismo), with full gameplay reveals for most of them. This was so much worse it hurts.

Also yeah, as other people have noted, this really does put the whole 12TF being such a massive selling point to the bed. There wasnt a single graphically impressive looking exclusive they showed off minus forza.

Alright I am now officially PISSED at MS and Sony. It's time to announce a price and get release dates and preorders ready.

Was it a good show? Yes. But was it a statement? Not even close. It was a double that they hyped up to be a grand slam.

NO Hellblade 2 man.. A 20 second Fable teaser to close the show. Halo Infinite looking significantly worse than TLOU 2. Im pissed.

I wanted this to be great
 
shocking. somehow worse than the ps5 event. woke shite and low tier gamepass stuff.

I love gamepass, but I'm starting to wonder if it's having a negative effect on game creation. That would've been negated if they actually shows some AAA shit.

When their flagship game Halo 'new slipspace' engine looks like that you can bet your ass that was prerendered CG for fable.
 
Positives:
- Everwild looked interesting, though a bit soft/touchy feely, and no idea what the gameplay is like
- new Obsidian RPG, though I'm sure that's at least 3 years away
- Fable teaser at the end -- good to see the art style and humor are there -- though just a brief teaser, and it appears the game is still in early stages, so it's several years away, hard to get excited at this point


Negatives:
- Very little gameplay, just lots of trailers without gameplay, lots of teasers with little idea of actual game
- Too much time spent with PR people yapping; I don't care
- Nothing that would make me want to buy an XSX at this point
- Lots of grim, dark, heavy stuff

I'd give it a C-, the PS showcase a C. Both were pretty underwhelming.
 
Their games are not far along in development to be shown in gameplay. Halo, Forza, Fable, The Medium, Avowed stole the show.
Those studios will need more time.
 
To think this was Microsofts second big showing, i wonder what they're thinking? I keep hoping they're holding the big hitters back but they showed Forza, Halo and Fable so....

I've got an X, that looks like it still has plenty of life left in it. No need to pick up an XSX
 
Holy crud that was disappointing, like 4/30 games were interesting to me :(

Halo Infinite looks like Rage 2 or Far Cry. The physics on the warthog were way off. I was excited after the metroidvania leak but I dunno about that now, the gunplay/gameplay was laughable at times. Halo 1-3 look better than that! The needed to show WAY more scale than that. It looked so localised, in that small area, felt like a PS3 game in scale/scope.

Need to see a LOT more, if its BotW-Halo then I can handle a slight dumbing down but only if it has stellar exploration/systems interations.
