In response to a message from Geoff Keighley congratulating him on the launch of Requiem, Jun Takeuchi, executive producer at Capcom, seems to have teased his presence at this year's Game Awards.

"Thank you for your kind words, Geoff. I'm so grateful that so many users around the world love this game. It'd be amazing to see you at the end of the year.."
Since rumors suggest a remake of Resident Evil Code Veronica will be released in 2027, an announcement at The Game Awards on December 11, 2026, cannot be ruled out.

Capcom: It'd be lovely to see you
Article: capcom preparing for event 9 months from now

This is the longest stretch for an article I've seen. A complete nothingburger.

I knew they'd be there on my personal list as soon as I saw that chainsaw flopping around on the floor and cutting off the zombies arm who tried to pick it up

I took that as it would be amazing if they were at the show to possibly win an award. Article spins it to "maybe remake announcement". :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Resident Evil 9, Crimson Desert, GTA 6, what else could fill up the 6 nomination slots? Fable, Wolverine, some Mario game?

Maybe Final Fantasy VII Part 3? What else is big this year?

Xenoblade 4, taking full advantage of Sw2 hardware. Should be gorgeous.

Also the rumored Zelda Orcania of Time remake. Will be big.

Yea, if no Mario game, I can see Ocarina of Time getting nominated. Quite often it's one Sony game, one Nintendo game, then the rest. GTA 6 will still win though if it makes the awards deadline.

True,

GTA 6 could be delayed again to early 2027. I hope not.

I hope we do see a Code Veronica remake for game awards. Or RE 1 Remake.

Only two RE games I haven't played.
