What's the point of tearing down the system if we see nothing running on that hardware (or even target hardware?).
Do you buy a Xbox for the Xbox itself? No? You buy it (I assume) for the games. We've seen plenty of games running on PS5 (granted we haven't seen someone physically put the disc into the drive but neither have we seen that for Xbox so that's irrelevant) but we've seen what... the Medium for Xbox? That's pretty much it?
At this point it's not even about liking one or the other. IF I do buy a next-gen system (I'm not 100% sure launch) it'll probably be PS5 but I'm not wedded to it. If Xbox turns things around in the next few months (I dobut it) I'm more than happy to buy into Xbox.
The 'concern' is more concern that Xbox is doing so poorly right now in terms of the PR battle that they will lose so badly Playstation will end up taking the piss like they did with PS3 and I do not want that to happen.

I can agree about the hardware but not about the software. They really haven't shown alot of software running on the XSX while the competition is going nuts with the "captured on PS5 label".

I am not concerned. I have never seen launch software that was the best representation of what a console could do. I believe the XSX will have a 5 year or longer life span. There will be XSX launch exclusive software and based on what I've seen on the hardware side the system will be fine. There has not been one PS5 teardown or hands on presentation. I'm 'concerned' the PS5 might not even be real at this point. Those videos could have been made on high end PCs. Where is the hardware Sony?

So how do you explain the Uncharted 4 60fps "captured on PS4 console" label that Naughty Dog admitted to being a render farm like "in engine using effects that are impossible in real-time" pre-rendered video?
They can say whatever they want there, it doesn't make it true.

Did you see a PS5 running that software or just words on a video? Is it possible for words to be exaggerated, embellished, or flat out untrue? Do you think PS5 development is done on high end PCs? Say what you want about XSX what you can't say is that it isn't real. Where is the PS5 hands on? What ports are on the back? What SSDs will it support? Something is going on at Sony.

Why hasn't anyone brought a false marketing lawsuit against Sony/Naughty Dog for a trailer of game? Seriously? Because it's a trailer for a videogame. Normal people living in the real world don't care enough.
Are you saying that Sony didn't lie by putting "Captured on a PS4 console" on the 60fps Uncharted 4 reveal trailer, even though Naughty Dog themselves admitted at SIGGRAPH that it was pre-rendered using effects that their engine doesn't support in real time?
Look I'm not saying that what we've seen of PS5 games isn't from actual PS5 dev kits. What I'm saying is that no one has actually seen someone load up one of these games on a PS5 console and play it. No one has even seen a PS5 console in the real world. No one has had their hands on with it. Microsoft have at least done that - they detailed everything about the console, people have touched it, looked over it, photographed it.

They could have been and then Sony is breaking advertising regulations by lying. At this point it looks like Sony has more than enough actual footage to show unlike a certain competitor. Sure the XSX hardware itself will be fine I've never argued otherwise. In some ways XSX is probably more powerful than PS5 but unfortunately there's nothing next-gen that is ready to be shown on their side. I know we don't usually get much in the way of 'next-gen' stuff at/around launch but we usually get one or two. It's looking as though XSX won't have anything at all for launch.

So Sony can not show any hardware just a few months from launch and that's fine but MS doesn't show a blockbuster 1st party launch game and they are in trouble? Please. Either both are going to be fine or Sony is in trouble. Not showing the finished hardware in people's hands two months out seems like a bigger deal to me.

It is way easier to fake videos than hands on teardowns. Those games could have been running on anything! XSX is a real console and will have real games. I don't even know how many ports the PS5 even has yet XSX is what I should be worried about? Nah.
