Demo: XBox Series S Quick Resume

That's pretty impressive, certainly a lot faster than current gen. Don't think I'll use it that much, guess I'm old school. But I could see myself keeping a couple a games I play through, such as one big title and a side game that is easy to play and unwind, such as Spelunky or something.
 
This is days' old footage, which in the current generational shift of consoles is outdated news. Give me some new stuff to complain and/or hype about please.
 
Technically speaking, that's impressive. Is it going to be useful bouncing from game to game after you have wet your pants doing it for the first time yourself though?
 
I know some will love this feature but I'm not really fussed. If I'm ever playing a game I tend to play one game at a time so I can give my full focus to it. I don't tend to juggle 2 game playthroughs at the same time.
 
Awesome. Granted, the games that are being swapped around aren't the biggest drivers of the system, but I also anticipate they will iterate and improve on the feature as time goes by.

Some are faster, but jumping to Star Wars was virtually six seconds.
 
Just about two months until we get reasonable load times back. Maybe even cartridge-level load times. I can't wait.

It's gotten so bad, it feels like I do half my Gaffing/social media while waiting for games and systems to start.
 
That's pretty fast, great news to everyone. Hopefully it won't take long before we see this when playing next gen games.

This actually really bothers me, MS has yet to show anything actually running on Xbox Series X
And Sony has yet to show a PS4 game running on a PS5
They're like the complete opposite
 
i guess its cool, id definitely use that fir something like a golf game.

game suspend (not console suspend) would could be a great feature
 
Good stuff. Looks like you can have up to 4 games with Quick Resume, for some reason I thought it was only 3. They've done a decent job showcasing the XSS with Gears 5 120fps demo, next-gen sizzle reel, and Quick Resume demo. I'm going to get one this holiday season. We all have PCs to upgrade now, otherwise I would grab 2.
 
Not gonna lie, that's awesome! I wonder how many games PS5 can quick resume. They better show off the UI on wednesday.
 
Seems pretty neat. I wonder how online games will be impacted by this? For example destiny 2 disconnects you and you need to log back in which takes forever.
 
Seems there is a severe lack of any hands on next gen games for any platform. By now you would expect media outlets and you tube influencers to have real consoles and real Demos.

I know people down play this feature, but theres so many times I want to play a quick game or online match but the laoding times put me off.
Having a few games I can jump in and play and switch whenever I want is an awesome feature.

Id go between a couple games Im playing, a driving game, Cod, Everybody loves Golf etc. Having a quick load it a dream feature for me. Glad they are doing it.

Anyone complaining can go back to 1 minute load times where everyone was complaining about at the start of the generation.....

They showed it at a developer conference without people and stuff in the game and the footage we seen was bad mobile phone footage. We have yet to see it in the real world. I do expect PS5 to be quicker loading though

Point I was trying to make was Sony has shown actual next gen titles running. Microsoft has nothing to show except BC and quick resume (using BC titles).
 
Some may think this isn't good but I love the convenience it brings.

people need to stop making this about sony vs xbox.

This feature allows you to resume games from exactly where you left off. Without this feature, you are loading to the title screen, then manually selecting your save game. Your fast i/o can't circumnavigate those steps for you.

Useful feature. I always have 2 or 3 games on the go at the same time, so I will get mileage out of this.

I know the PS4 can do that with one game. Maybe the PS5 can do it with more? I guess once they show us the UI will find out if it does support more than 1 title.

They play down this feature because it's not showing on their system. I certainly hope I can switch between my games on my PS5 this way.
