interesting as a design exercise I guess, but I find cars like this much less interesting than concepts that could actually see production.

Mercedes cars are starting to look more and more like neon displays on wheels. Afaik they even recently started to add lighting to the front grille. Completely not my style.

These kinds of concept cars are rarely indicative of the final styling (maybe hints here and there) so it's a big fat nothing.

That said it's not appealing.

this looks really cool but this is taking a concept to the extreme. it reminds me of this article about what people in the 60s thought cars would look like in the future except with a 2020 mindset. Not really a fan of the wheels or the "scales" on the back, but I am a sucker for concept cars. I'd never want transparent doors either.

I can dig it. looks pretty cool and it's a concept car anyway so not like we'll be seeing something like that actually on the road. some of the techs in this car can actually be use in production vehicles so that's cool. not too sure about the whole quills thing in the back thou. what function do they serve? or is it purely to make it look "organic"? the way it can move diagonally forward is pretty cool too.

It can be an internal competition for budding designers, parts of a master thesis (probably several in which a group of fresh designers collaborates on a project), pushing PR for Mercedes as they have to output at a certain frequency, prestige etc

Seeing a car this far in past the clay model stage is impressive though.

With how shitty many car's UIs are they better nail that shit. Imagine this thing glitching out on you... Swedish Black Metal blaring while a child plays in a sunflower patch on the display with the various lights spazzing out as your girl cums all over the ridiculously expensive seat from your heartbeat pulsating her just so as it crab walks from lane to lane in a zigzag pattern across 5 lanes of traffic completely out of your control while the pleasant lady voice tells you "device not supported" over and over again...

On second thought, sign me up!

I'd love to see more car makers embrace these futuristic designs.
Current cars are boring. Everyone just does the same stuff, take the logos away and it's often hard to differentiate one brand from the other.
