Target finally updated my console to "Preparing to ship". looks like i'll get it on the 18th alongside Demon's Souls.

My status just changed but doesn't say it's shipped. I'm in the south east US
edit. Also says wed the 18 but I'm pretty sure that's still the placeholder date.

I called customer service and got them to put the damn thing in a box. It was going to ship in its original packaging. (Check the post above yours). They must be out of their minds!!

So if I open and test the console for a couple of hours and decide to return they will not accept it? If that is the case I am canceling it. I am releasing mine from target.

So with the limited Numbers PS5 was distributed to diffrent countrys (100k for Germany) it could cause Peopel who are desprate to get one but cant to maybe try to steal one. So i have an preorder secured and it will get delivered to a Poststore. ( i dont trust my Neigbors from same Apartment...

feels good! estimated delivery date for me was always Fri 13th-18th. i wonder if there is a chance 18th is just "arrive by" and it could possibly show up earlier.

That is insanity. I have a FedEx shop down the street from me so I may see if they can hold it there because I definitely don't want it sitting at my house.

Demon Souls updated for me for the 13th - UPS.
Sackboy coming the 12th - Fedex.
Crossing fingers the console gets shipped by Fedex (we will know tomorrow probably).

Try creating a FedEx account and a MyUPS account. When's label is created you'll find out before Target's site updates either way.

Just checked my 2nd pre-order that is at Target (for my brother) and it's now saying backordered. Placed at 7:56pm on sep 16th.

I talked to customer service but he literally just read of what I could already see on the order page, lol.
Ugh, my kids were getting excited too. It sucks that Target is supposedly getting a bunch for launch day but can't fulfill preorders.
EDIT: apparently the systems aren't actually backordered, but there just isn't capacity to ship them all with the initial batch. So I should still expect mine within the window they promised, just on the later side i guess.

Yep. It's not able to be delivered until the 12th and it's next day fedex so I'm not worried. My Xbox sat for a week also and arrived on time ok today. Traveled from Kentucky to PA in a day.
