3-4 years? What are you on about, the ps6 aint coming out in 2029 lol. Its gonna be out by 2027 for sure. Also how do you not understand that PS6 has to be exponentially more powerful than this gen Pro to justify its existence. Which means new HW, more expensive components, if there is a bump in memory size, that will hike up the price too.

Do you think they will just fit in a current graphics card that will sell for cheaper 2 years later? Also everything is getting more expensive, not cheaper so not sure where you see anywhere price drops? Literally the opposite is happening.

What are YOU on about? The rumors are about 2027. 2028 is actually less likely and 2029 was never even mentioned.

In terms of competition the market is being served to Sony on a platter almost. They are gonna have a very easy time competing.

However, it's not all roses for the PS6. Sony's biggest competitor will be themselves. Now that Moore's law is almost over and we have diminishing returns creeping up, they're gonna have a hard time convincing their userbase to upgrade.

Just making the PS6 a little more powerful is not going to do it in my opinion. They must have a killer application, now more than ever. Or the risk is, their audience and publishers might stay with the PS5 for longer than desirable..

That's precisely what Sony wants. They don't care if you play Fortnite and CoD on ps5 or ps6 or ps portable. They just want you in their hardware ecosystem.

I think they have already won the console 'war' for next gen but its going to be a problem for Sony when you can play xbox anywhere and every where

but there are other media for games now, such as pc, portable, hybrid, steam machine, mobile phone, cloud, and even straight from tv or even calculator if you want to count those as well.
console wars might be ended, but video game now is wide more than just console and pc like decades before. there is no point IMO for wars nowadays.

Sony won in home consoles and soon will be the only standing player there.
Nintendo won in portable consoles and since Vita got discontinued is the only standing player there.
There's also the PC and mobile markets, but they aren't consoles.
