If I'm not wrong most of the leaked content is from console versions which lack a day 1 patch and all the eye candy you could expect from the PC and next gen consoles versions.

And lets be real. If you are a dev and need to squeeze as many frames as possible, reducing population density must be one of the easiest ways to do so.

And this is what the guy who's recorded this has to say about it So... just as advertised. Some areas are super busy, some are not and it totally depends on time of day. Driving around at night And I can see people abusing the physics to do some weird ass GTAV shit Physics screems Sleeping...

I feel like this is an HDD bottleneck. Might crop up on PS4 consoles as well with HDD.

No wonder they recommend SSD on PC.

To be fair, most of the discussion right now in the leaks thread is about bugs and glitches.

Which also has an impact on an open world RPG like this. You need to have population. It's a big city, if you can't guarantee that you shouldn't release it.

It's from the leaked footage which is unpatched, so whom are you hoping to convince? This thread says 'No Leaks' Where as the other thread is 'All Leaks/Spoilers in here'

Honestly, I don't get why people struggle with this. Want to discuss the leaks or how terrible it looks etc, that's the thread for it.

I'm not trying to make excuses and I agree with you, population in those kind of games have a huge impact on immersion.

It happened too in the console versions of TW3. Played it at launch (dunno if it got better) and Novigrad lacked a lot of people too.

I think from the very beginning it was clear they are doing only FPP. Or at least from the moment they started to talk about the game in some detail.

And in this case, it is not like they could just add TPP, it seems the game is built around the FPP to the very core. This includes, I suppose, how the cutscenes are working fpr example. If you have "cutscenes" in FPP, especially if you controll the character, I don't see how it could work in TPP. I've read they put a lot of effort in the cutscene system to make it work in FPP.

Generally I prefer TPP games (aside from shooters), but in this case I am glad they made this choice. And Kingdom Come deliverance taught me 100% FPP view could be super immersive. TPP cutscenes/dialogues were really breaking the immersion in that game.


Also, people should really not expect this game to be sci-fy GTA... Personally i would be disappointed if it was, but I think some people could be disappointed the other way around. The marketing will be to blame in that case, but still. It is an RPG - and recent previews confirm that. I've read in several places the marketing does not reflect 100% what the game really is...

I haven't seen much about the game (on purpose) and I'm expecting an small open world with light RPG mechanics and Deus Ex kind of missions with multiple ways of completing them.

Hope I'm not disappointed. ^^u
 
So I have been reading the new comic series ( 5 books only ), just to understand the world a little better. I noticed that there is a short story for the Steam version and a digital comic for GOG. Is there a way to get both stories? I am almost basing my purchase on which one I want to read. I prefer to purchase from GOG by default, but the stories are throwing a wrench into that. Is anybody picking one over the other based on that, if so which one?

Gameplay is awesome, shooting is almost on par with pure fps games (hard to believe but we wil lsee i guess), main story and side quest's are amazing. Console perfomance is good, presentration is great. People who preordered and are worried now because some bad looking leaks. DON'T BE. Game is worth every penny

The more I see, the worse it looks. Super happy to wait for the PS5 patch/version. Perhaps longer if that has issues too. Don't envy anybody buying this next week. You've waited years. You can't wait a little longer?

For what I understand, the review embargo ends on Dicember 7th (tomorrow) and DreamcastGuy posted the video before that, so for CDPR threating him to take it down is to be expected. In this case, I guess they're on the right here. What bothers me is that now DreamcastGuy is crying over it on a live YouTube stream. Being eager to tell only good things about something you like won't give you the right to do whatever you want, if you want to work on a public streaming site like YouTube you should know that.

He sped through the main quest pretty quick, however, there's a metric tonne of involved side quests and content in the game which he reckons will keep you busy for a 100+ hours. So yeah, plenty to do. He didn't really have much in the way of negatives to say regarding the game, and said people shouldn't be fretting about performance as it played great despite some bugginess (No Day 1 patch after all). He played on XSX btw. There are multiple endings (as we know) and it's a lot of fun. He seemed pretty stoked about it all. Intends to do a proper review when he can down the road. Has already ordered a PS version so he can platinum it on that as well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

So clearly the game is Sharp Knees would not bang.

He was shipped his copy early by Best Buy due to a BB mistake. He didn't have an agreement with CDPR.

I wonder if he takes them to court over it if he would win the case. Not gonna happen but just curious because he recieved it in the mail and should be free to do what ever the fuck he wants with it. If CDPR does not want it out there they should send the hardcopies later to stores to not risk this happening. Obviously they wont do it. But what can a consumer do about it when he recieves something early? He should be totally free to do what ever he wants with it then. Not his fault

I find it interesting that his finished time is like half of what anyone else has even hinted at that got the game early. Makes you wonder if he actually finished it or if he's just blowing smoke to get that video out so quick.
 
For everyone getting into the cyberpunk mindset by watching Blade Runner, Dredd, reading cyberpunk lore, etc., I'd like to recommend a nice visual novel

A nice short story where you are a bartender in a cyberpunk dystopia with living sex dolls and talking dogs (maeby not so dystopian future after all...)
The game is also on Xbox game pass on PC

I'm not. Look this game has been in production/preproduction for the better parts of at least 5-7 years. The marketing is on the level of that of a rockstar games production. To think this game will flop or be a disappointment is kinda crazy to me. Will it be perfect? No but what game is? Will it have bugs and performance issues? Sure it's a huge open world with lots going on so that should at least be acceptable. When GTA5 was released on the ps3 it had framerate issues and pop in issues but damn that was the benchmark for that generation hands down. CDPR didn't invest this much time, money, and effort for it to flop. Red dead 2 is my game of the generation, hopefully this tops it.
