Definitely. I was only there for a couple of months until the inevitable ban, but it's by far the most toxic community I have ever seen.

A lot of Era are perma-virgins to the point that they've never even asked someone out, and there's an incredible amount of jealousy for those that can make romantic connections. So they get angry at those that do and claim it's due to some nefarious reason (old man preying on a young woman) rather than the person has a decent job/looks and/or self-confidence/sense of humor, etc. There's a lot of women in their 20's who would rather go out with older guys because honestly, a lot of guys in their 20's still need to get their shit together, whether it's financially, emotionally, mentally, etc.

I'm completely lost on what half their arguments are, for example:

I, for one, don't disagree with the sentiment.

There's no need to, say, talk about Nepenthe's car loan every time, or to resort to actual insults. Phonepunk went off the deep end with that and got a ban. The stuff from Era we post here is so ridiculous that the jokes write themselves, and I think that's the point of the thread.
