Has Blades opening ever been topped?

Such a good casting choice for the character.
His action scenes are so grimy, impact after impact and the sound design of the entire sequence is great.
Wesleys swag is on another level. Hopefully the next Blade comes close.
 
Snipes' Blade is one of the most perfectly cast superheroes in movie history. Casting on or near the level of Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man.
 
28 Weeks Later. Perfection.

This cuts off some of it obviously but it starts off around the best part. Again, it's perfection.


When I first saw this scene I assumed it was a fucking nightmare sequence. It's horrifying and the music from the first movie was used even better here than it was the first time.

Was gonna post the same sequence, utterly incredible opening, seen it in the cinema and I don't think I breathed until he was on that boat.

Replacement Killers is an incredible film, but Blade does not suck.


I remember when I went to see Blade in the theaters I had no idea it was about vampires at all, and when the blood sprinklers turned on it scared the shit out of me lol.
 
Does a better one two punch exist?

Legendary title sequence followed by PERFECT Batman introduction.

Both of them have amazing openings.
Due a rewatch I'm sure.
 
I give falcon and the winter soldiers opening credit there's a lot of going on but falcon is in command of his wings and history will look back on it fondly.

I think i was 12. My mum said there's a video (pirated) downstairs that I might like called blade it's about vampires . My reaction was vampires? LMAO.

Anyway I watched it and was blown away.

This clips made me wanna watch the movie but I got the name mixed up and watched 28 days later instead, kept waiting for the scene and was just disappointed overall
 
Can't believe this thread made it this far without this beauty.

The music is what really makes it of course but combined with the editing this is just art.

The part at 2:18 gets me every time. Perfection.




Again, it's the fucking music. Perfect.



And yes these predate Blade but I think this thread is just about great movie openings now lol.

One of the best openings ever, that's for sure!

Too bad the rest of the movie was abysmally bad.
 
In terms of superhero movies, it definitely is the top one. Snipe's Blade is one of the most badass comic book characters to be put on screen.
