Well not any. E.g. here in germany they were available in various "media markt" or "saturn" (stores) in quite big numbers. Problem is, they didn't sell them through their online portal, so they were available for quite a long time (who buys something in a store these days with such high corona numbers).

I rarely go to stores these days. Maybe that is why I miss some hardware sales.
And by the time I go to them, they are sold out. Unless you follow every store, it's hard to track what they have.

Yeah. Fortunately it looks like Microsoft has a stellar lineup for year 3. Nothing confirmed, but Hellblade 2, Contraband, Avowed and Perfect Dark at minimum are all supposed to go out in 2023 and God knows what else

Main issues of xbox one, was the games. People called the console with no games. Now in this generation, xbox has 23 studios, with major titles such as elder scrolls. That is a healthy console.

There is a bit more of a disconnect between Xbox total revenue and their hardware sales if you assume an equal arpu as a Sony user. We think this might be cause of PC users.
If that disconnect grows this quarter, it's would be even more interesting and will impact the relative meaningfulness of consoles sales for xbox.

Because Xbox business is on PC, cloud and consoles. If you are only reporting consoles sales, you are probably reporting 60% of your Xbox business.

Original Gears trilogy (skip Judgement, 4 and 5 but maybe try the Gears 5: Hivebusters expansion).
Ori and the Blind Forest, Ori and the Will of the Wisps (these 2 games are Nintendo quality, maybe even better).
If you have friends to play with: Sea of Thieves
Master Chief Collection: I’d say all of the Bungie campaigns are worth playing, with the most profound story being Reach (can’t remember if I had to buy ODST and Reach separately, but they go to £3 on sale often).
Forza Horizon 5
Rare Replay don’t sleep on this, especially if you had an N64. Perfect Dark, Banjo series, Conker’s Bad Fur Day, Viva Piñata, Kameo - all with increased resolution.
Sunset Overdrive by Insomniac, I’ve not played this but I like Ratchet and Clank and Spider-Man.
There’s lots of BC games that aren’t on PS, depends if you’ve played them on PC though (RDR aside).

Games are what sells your console. Xbox one didnt have games to sell their console. While PlayStation had games.
If your games arent attractive to regular people, you wont sell console. If you want to see how much a console sells, look at the games. Nintendo is prime example.

I don't know if XS reached the X360 figures (I still doubt it for different reasons: Xcloud, games first on PC day one ...).
But I am clear that it will be the best generation for Xbox users when it comes to games. Between gamepass and the large number of Studios working for the console, it is difficult to think that the level of catalog to enjoy compared to previous generations of Xbox will not be exceeded.

The games announced so far already exceed the offering Xbox One had. That's a low bar. But I agree, this is looking to be the best generation ever for Xbox from a first party studio perspective. That, along with MS Rewards/Game Pass, is why I own Xbox Series X after completing skipping Xbox One last gen.

Don't forget that you can stream most of the games on Gamepass now which gives you the opportunity to try a lot of games without committing to a lengthy download and install. Even if you are sure that you do want to download and install a game you can still stream it while its downloading in the background and then just pickup where you left off once it's installed. I think his estimate is conservative. To be the fastest selling xbox, they would have had to sell more then 10 million in the first year ( Nov 2020 - Nov 2021) to top the xbox 360. They are probably closer to 13 or 14 million is my guess as sold through, with another few million units on way to/or in warehouses/shelves. Putting them shipped around 15 - 16 million. Unless production has stopped, there is less chance the sales channel will go dry with units.
