MONOPOLY
What a get for Sony. Plugs their one gap, co-op centred as well as PVP - one of the best FPS games/devs on the market. Just made sense.
For Sony it's probably worth this much. They're in danger of literally having no FPS games. Counter offers probably jacked up the price.Seriously though, is Bungie worth this much money anymore? It seems like all their heyday was in the past. I'm confused as to why they want to purchase them when they're still going to be multiplatform as well. Unless it's to head off a exclusive purchase by MS?
They will be "countering" COD with the Deviation Games game.But...why? Are they trying to counter COD with Destiny? lmao (that's Bungie right?)
Or CapcomBut why? They could have bought Sega or Konami for that...
Sony and Microsoft both approaching MAD for cock blocks? Probably still more in Microsoft's favor with CoD, but this might be enough for deals, especially if Microsoft gets GamePass on PS5 and Sony takes their 30% cut.
If GamePass arrives on PS5, why would anyone buy an Xbox ? Then again MS probably doesnt care as they get their subscription.
Simply, Destiny is more mainstream than anything either of those 2 are making. But why? They could have bought Sega or Konami for that...
Sony has said Bungie will remain a multiplatform studio, with the option "to self-publish and reach players wherever they choose to play."
It does feel that way. Not saying Bungie can't do great stuff, but this looks more like saving face. This feels like Sony trying to stick it to MS than buying it because they want it.
Regardless, this is all so dumb. I want everyone to be able to play all games on all platforms(except first party titles).
I hate this new trend.
MT of skins
Makes sense.
They're going to make the next COD exclusively for them.
Not sure why Bungie wants to go back to being tied again after exiting Microsoft and Activision?
I don't think MS wanted them. Not much growth potential honestly.Wow bungie must really hate ms to have gone with sony. I have to say though, are they willing to make something new? Destiny has been done to death.
Bungie are halo developers?
This is what I'm wondering. To me this is akin to buying current Bioware which has no talent left. I mean, granted MS just did that with Blizzard, but they of course got the money-maker King (Candy Crush) with it along with CoD and suchBut why though? All they've done is Destiny over the past 12 years. Bungie's glory days are gone.
Think of all the games you could make with 3.6 billion dollars.
They keep rebooting and cutting 90% of their work only to re-sell it years later. Their only redeeming quality is the gunplay, the lore plus maybe the armor / weapon design, but those keep getting vaulted.Agree. Bungie is IMO the best FPS creator, there with Respawn, Treyarch and now the redeemed 343 after Halo Infinite.
