Yup. Until current contracts run out. Then, maybe a few cash cows will stay multiplatform for up to a few years. But then those games are going to be Microsoft only. You don't buy properties to let your competition have access to them, that's not how business works.

Well, if cod costs 70$ on PS, GPU is 5$ more expensive a month, so 60$ for a year.

Why? Their market is growing: Hardware sales are supply constrained by active userbase (PSN MAU) has yearly increases and demand for hardware seems very high.
This growth could compensate the few million players they could lose if CoD goes to GP and gets console exclusive: yearly CoD games seems to be bought by around 10% or less of the PSN MAU. We're talking around 10M users or maybe less. Some of them also have a PC or Xbox, and may already have GP, so wouldn't change the userbases.
And even if 100% of them don't, and even if they would end making CoD exclusive (meaning Spencer, the MS president, Activision and MS lied to their investors and regulators, even in legal documens like the SEC filings), a important portion of these players could remain on PS playing other games, specially once they get new games by Bungie, Firewalk or Deviation. And even if those who firstly get GP due to CoD, even if it's to get it "cheaper", are you sure they would leave PS? Can't they buy competitive shooter from Sony and at the same time play CoD on GP?
They have capable teams making new IPs: Bungie who with Destiny got the best launch of a new IP record and well, made Halo, And also have two upcoming 2nd party games with former Bungie, CoD and Apex Legends key staff. And there's Guerrilla, Firesprite or London working on MP games that may be shooters as well. I think at least a couple of these projects will join the over half a dozen exclusives who sold or are in track to sell around 20M or more this generation.
I'd say if CoD would go exclusive way under 5M PS players would leave PS, maybe under 2M. Which can be compensated by the growth PS already has. So I think CoD going exclusive wouldn't affect PS hardware sales and wouldn't affect the potentital success to the Sony competitive shooters.

Unless that IP does the twice as much money on PlayStation than on Xbox. You don't spend 70 billion on properties to cut its earnings later. They didn't do that with Minecraft. Sony will also not stop releasing Destiny properties on other platforms.
All these companies are doing is making the most money out of their properties. MS and Sony are getting quite platform agnostic right now.

Depends on when/if the deal closes. If it closes this year, MW2 will also launch on Game Pass, if it's next year, it'll be that.

Honestly I think they are doing this to fuel Gamepass more than anything else. Having those titles available day one on the service is a huge incentive to get people to join. However they can still release the games on competing platforms. The only reason why they wouldn't do this is if making them exclusive will increase their revenue.

Oh I don't think that's gonna be the case at all. I don't think Sony's perceived marketing agreement would prevent a day 1 game pass release.
What reason do you think it won't be on GP after the acquisition closes ?

I would bet the marketing agreement covers things like Game Pass specifically. Of course, no way to be sure unless we were to see the language. We will not know for sure until the deal goes through.

That's one games specific contract, not a universally binding one.
We have no idea what the extent of restrictions, if any at all, on the CoD deals are.
We won't know this until the deal closes, until then it's a safer assumption that like all other first party games, the next one will land on game pass day 1.

That's not really the same case IMO. They were never on any platform where Xbox/Game Pass was in the first place. CoD is not timed exclusive to any one platform. Nor, unlike Village, either platform holder bought the publisher before the game released.
We'll see how this proceeds. But I fully expect CoD 2023 at least to be on GP day 1.

And frankly, I cannot imagine Sony making a deal with Activision that gives Sony sole rights to market the game and yet the game is allowed on Game Pass. Not everyone is bad from either side. But unfortunately there are a few that can't control themselves and cause problems here. People just need to listen to their feedback and try to make improvements to their behavior.
You're right that we are still early in the year and there's still plenty of announcements to be made. Some are definitely going to lose their chance to participate in those discussions and it's a shame because sometimes they do make interesting points.
I'm not perfect myself and I do have some issues. But I always try to listen to feedback that's given to me. And I always try to show respect to others here even though I might not agree with their opinions.
Anyways I appreciate the reply. You guys deal with this on a daily basis so your definitely the experts on the situation with the communities.
