I keep saying we haven't gotten a date because they have doubts if it can release on their Q2 (July / September) or Q3 (October / December). I'd bet the game is internally aiming for a September or October release at most...with TLOU remake in November (now i'm making stuff up). Forspoken somewhere as well. And they still have the marketing rights for Hogwarts which is releasing this year for now, lmao

Yeah, SSM workers always sound confident with a 2022 release, no reasons for concern at all. Absolutely nothing pointed to a 2023 release.
No, they have Forspoken in October, and I assume another big 3rd party for November (Final Fantasy XVI? Howgarts Legacy?). I bet GoW will be released on September.

I remember some said they might delay it due to Starfield or BOTW2. But even if those games came out this I never thought it was a good reason to delay the game. They will release it when it’s ready and according to the last tweet they are in the final stage of development.

On the other end, it's almost June. That leaves more or less 3-4 months (because i don’t believe on a November-December date) before release

It would be retarded to delay the game to release it closer to Starfield and BotW2. It's the opposite, the less competition the better.
I think Sony could have a multi game event in June where there would be a small GoW trailer announcing a September release (they have Forspoken for October).
And then in August, very likelly at EVO, to showcase a long gameplay focusing on the combat to showcase some nice combos. The new director was the combat director in the previous GoW games, so I assume the new game will shine in combat.

I mean delaying the game even though it’s ready is pretty dumb. Even if Starfield and BOTW weren’t delayed. It’s always a nice idea to have a strong title release during the holidays.

They will release it when ready, for sure. Regarding the Q4 Sony always gives it to the 3rd parties unless they are releasing a console there.
Sony prefers to release their own big games in the rest of the year, if possible in spots where they don't have a lot of big 3rd party releases.
I assume their idea is to have a great lineup during the whole year instead of focusing the big games of the year in a short period of time.
I think their plan is September GoW, October Forspoken, November FFXVI.
