It's weird. Devs saying it comes out this year, the rating, etc, but it's june and the game is still MIA.

where are they gonna show it? A SoP for this one doesn't work because of spoilers. so, a random trailer?

You do know the game has to be in a playable state to get a rating right?

Also sometimes it seems you don't even want the game to come out.

So stop acting like the worst is already confirmed. It's almost like you want the game to be cancelled so you can gloat about it.

Just wait until they give us an update. They will give us a date at some point and after that the game will release.

As for a release date there's such thing as giving one out too early. They could be trying to avoid some backlash if the game is half a year away. If they give us a date and it's only a few months out there will be less doubt on the actual release.

The only people saying it's going to be delayed are those hoping for it and you know exactly why they're doing it.

There's no evidence of it beyond wishful thinking.

It's the best approach these days since a delay seems to souring people's hype.

Basically it can happen but there's no evidence of it. People just need to chill and wait for an announcement.

I know there's some salt due to Ststfields delay. I agree that it sucks it was pushed out this year. However Ragnarok coming out this year means we all can play something great before the year is up. Nobody should want this game to get delayed as well.

Both previous showcases were announced one week out and at the end of the week. 2020 on a Friday and 2021 on a Thursday.

June 9 is the SGF kick-off, which means it probably won't be that date.

Either we get an announcement tomorrow for next week or it's going to fall later in June, if in June at all.

I get that but also the guys "gut feeling" is probablg also things he hears going on at the studio, HOWEVER I hope he is wrong and it comes out this year

Nah he said it wasn't based on anything other than public info.

He now says it's 100% coming in 2022 because someone who knows (from SMS/SIE) told him.

Ask him yourself, if Ragnarok ships this year davidjaffe davidjaffe

Sony bought EVO, a tournament followed by hundreds of thousands of players who like action games with combos.

The EVO finals are in August 7 and typically there are many fighting game annoucements or reveals there. Pretty likely this year we'll see there things like the Street Fighter 6 gameplay reveal and possibly release date, Tekken 8 or Mortal Kombat 12 announcement. I assume ARC System Works may have some annoucements there even if it's something smaller like new DLC characters or stuff like that.

Sony could package all these fighting game announcements on a State of Play that also could feature a meaty gameplay GoW demo showcasing combat and combos and so on (the game director was combat director before, so pretty likely the game will have improved in this area).

Sony owns the guys behind the Melty Blood featured at EVO, but knowing Sony owns EVO and they will continue acquiring devs or who knows if even some publisher. It wouldn't be rare to see them acquiring Bandai Namco, Capcom, Netherrealm or ARC System Works. And the best place to announce it would be there, on a SoP played just at the end of the last EVO finals with a whole stadium screaming with the announcements.

What do you mean it's MIA? Just because we don't have an exact date? It's not like we haven't seen the game.

Nah. It's better to not show half the game. Luckily, the original was so good they don't have to spoil the game to try to sell it. People are hyped enough just knowing it's the sequel to GoW 2018.

I was just reading that this game is the final part of the Norse mythology story. I wonder if there's a possibility the one after this will do Egyptian mythology. That would be amazeballs.
