People are salty because a game that would prove their “get woke go broke” shtick is extremity successful, aren’t they?
So what’s you source again? Where are the receipts? If you could remove sony's cock from your mouth for just a quick minute you might actually even understand the words you are reading here. Remember Square Enix and how the many millions for Tomb Raider and Deus Ex were deemed a failure ? People kept saying how can 5 or 10 million be a failure ? Because its about internal projections. What you project and expect to sell.
If you expect to sell 30 million and only sell 20, it means you failed so bad thats its for the history books. You failed by 50% your projections. A 2016 Uncharted game sold 9 million in 8 months. A 2020 game with at least double the budget of Uncharted 4 sold 10 million in 2 years to an install base of 115 million. Does that read like a runaway success to you ? Do you think it is absurd to speculate that they were expecting to sell more than a 4 year old game that costed less to produce and sold to a much smaller install base ? Does that seem like something that makes sense to you ?

TLOU2: 4 million in 4 days. 10 million in 2 years (Fastest Selling PS exclusive ever btw)

But you go ahead and live in your own realm where both games aren't blockbusters... Just because you don't think they are.
The most anticipated of all time? Source?Lol last of us 2 wasn’t the most anticipated game sure guys it’s a niche title 10 mill is shockingly good for it especially since almost half were in the first week
I’d like to see some receipts. No one's buying this.
We all saw TLoU2 drop off the monthly charts faster than you can shake a stick. There's no way TLoU2 sold better than TLoU, Spiderman, Horizon Zero Dawn, or God of War.
It was literally the game that informed Naughty Dog they were headed for catastrophe continuing on their current path. Congratulations to multiplayer gamers though.

I said before, you don't follow video game sales charts, so you're making assumptions because you want to believe you're right.

ITALY:
Note:
Last of Us Part II legs were stronger in this region and had a bigger launch than Ghost of Tsushima. 2020 charts show The Last of Us Part II at number 5 for 2020 while Ghost of Tsushima was at 18.
FRANCE:
Note:
Last of Us Part II likely had the biggest launch and the legs were not too far behind.
UK
Note:
Last of Us had a bigger launch but as the charts show, it didn't stop appearing on the UK charts.
80% drop is not unusual. The Last of Us Part II was a heavily pre-ordered, more than most of Sony's first part titles.
Australia and New Zealand
Note:
These are very small regions and Ghost of Tsushima had slightly better legs.
I like you, you showed the receipts. I want the haters to show theirs now.I posted sales charts months ago.
This is BS lol
No one's buying this.
We all saw TLoU2 drop off the monthly charts faster than you can shake a stick. There's no way TLoU2 sold better than TLoU, Spiderman, Horizon Zero Dawn, or God of War.

Pretty much everything except the moment to moment gameplay, which was excelent.Enemy encounters become a bit tedious after a while, the games pacing is pretty bad.The overall plot is nonexistant, as most story reliea on carachter drama rather than a mix of carachter drama and development and plot reveals like the first game(even if 80% of the story was about carachter development). I hate novelas, and the game's story was basically a novela in videogame format. Why is the game trash? Is it because they killed off Joel? Or the story in general? Or the gameplay?
Have you read the Count of Monte Cristo? Because this game basically mirrors that book's ending (The book is mentioned in the game btw).Pretty much everything except the moment to moment gameplay, which was excelent.Enemy encounters become a bit tedious after a while, the games pacing is pretty bad.The overall plot is nonexistant, as most story reliea on carachter drama rather than a mix of carachter drama and development and plot reveals like the first game(even if 80% of the story was about carachter development). I hate novelas, and the game's story was basically a novela in videogame format.
What I also hated was the CONSTANT killing of carachters out of the blue. Got-like killing are fine, but one thing the game didn't understand as to why GOT got so famous doing it is because they only really killed carachters suddenly once every blue moon, and even then, most of the time it fleshed out the carachters first, and let them have an arc, before killing them off. In TLOU 2 all of aby's friends die without you really knowing them. The latino guy whose name I forget now was the best carachter in the game, and they kill him just like that, without any time in the spotlight. And for a friend of Aby, she gets over his death pretty quickly.
But what I hated the most was the SJW/leftist politics thrown(Ellie calling people bigots because shes a lesbian, constant stuff like that thrown in your face to make you feel bad if you think otherwise without any of the nuance this type of topic has) or topics being brought in a game that makes zero sense, like that tribal girl that wants to be treated like a boy(She was raised in an ultra religious group in which doing that is a big no-no; they are in the middle of a fucking war, and she thinks that doing something is a taboo is gonna go well with her people; and even after knowing all that, she stills go back to her house and murders her mother just because she can't accept her, because you know it goes against her beliefs and the island is getting invaded and her people massacred, and the game justifies as self defence. Completely unbelievable to happen given the circunstances, and it feels tackled on just to teach the player a "lesson" about being "accepting"). There are the other things, like the game trying to make me feel bad for the villain by trying to retcon the first game, when in the first game it was already pretty clear nobody was truly evil in the game, or making me fight ellie and almost kill her just because, and so many more.
And that's its biggest problem: The game feels actively like its trying to teach you a lesson, to make you feel bad for thinking differently from what it wants you to think, instead of just telling a great story.
The first game had all those morals and stories it wanted to tell, but it was all in service of the overall plot of the game. In TLOU 2 it feels the opposite, it feels like it is a series of lessons on how to behave in real life, instead of just being a work of fiction that is trying to absorb you in its tale.
All I’m asking here is for people to substantiate Their takes because we all know this conjecture and downplaying is coming from green rats and people that hoped that a “woke” game would flop.
I posted sales charts months ago.
This is BS lol
I like to watch people spinning. It's funny, sad and pathetic all at the same time. You know he doesn't have a single slice of info to back up his claim so why bother? Next he'll say Sony committed securities fraud by releasing fake numbers, just to back up his nonsensical claim that the game flopped.
He's invested in saying both game aren't gargantuan successes because that's the way he thinks it should be.
In short, let him keep hating.
Lol.Have you read the Count of Monte Cristo? Because this game basically mirrors that book's ending (The book is mentioned in the game btw).
I really think you should get on with your literary references because only a person incapable of understanding stories and what is being said would think this.
Yeah, you didn't undersand the game AT ALL.
Nah, you're wrong but that's ok, really:Lol.
Someone likes something, you are fine and cool.If you didn't understand it though, you are DUMB!Your tastes are shit, because the story it was told is TRANSCENDING ILLUMINARY LITERATURE OF HIGHEST ORDER!
I didn't like it, and that's my opinion. Just like you can have a shit opinion and that would be fine, I can have mine and be right, bevause in my perspective, TLOU 2 story is a piece of flamming shit.
You really think Druckmann's next project is going to be multiplayer?
No, I think Naughty Dogs cash cow is going to be multiplayer going forward. Druckman will take 6 years and an insane budget to sell another 10 million copies of some single player game and Sony leadership will encourage him to find another position within the company as it focuses more efforts on GAAS.
What are you proving here? That TLoU2 sold well? Yeah, we know.
We all saw TLoU2 drop off the monthly charts faster than you can shake a stick. There's no way TLoU2 sold better than TLoU, Spiderman, Horizon Zero Dawn, or God of War.
Then why are they making a new single player IP.....No, I think Naughty Dogs cash cow is going to be multiplayer going forward. Druckman will take 6 years and an insane budget to sell another 10 million copies of some single player game and Sony leadership will encourage him to find another position within the company as it focuses more efforts on GAAS.
It seems you don't even understand the definition of an opinion. But I guess it should be expected, given that you are the sort of person that likes the kind of experience that TLOU 2 provides.Nah, you're wrong but that's ok, really:

Go on, keep not understanding stories, it's fine.
If you didn’t like it, why do you want to talk about it so much. Just move on, and not have to feel the burden any longer.Lol.

According to WIki, LoU 1 sold 8M copies in 14 months across PS3 and PS4 by Aug 2014. Add in another 10 months of sales of sales (including Christmas 2014), and no doubt it cleared 10M by June 2015. It was at 17M by 2018.No one's buying this.

I do for the same reason we all are here: Its fun to talk about videogames. If you didn’t like it, why do you want to talk about it so much. Just move on, and not have to feel the burden any longer.
The first game was 1. Bundled like crazy, and 2. And two different platformsIf it sold more than TLOU1, I will recognize its greatness.... but till then, it's a failure. (compared to TLOU1, that is)
It's normally the other way around - 2nd installment tend to become the blockbuster game.
He is looking for validation. It's terrible to be wrong when no one agrees with you.If you didn’t like it, why do you want to talk about it so much. Just move on, and not have to feel the burden any longer.
Define quality, because it has great sales, amazing gameplay, a gripping and different story on perspective, hate and loss, the most game of the years awarded to a video game to date, and also winning the true game of the year awardI do for the same reason we all are here: Its fun to talk about videogames.
But there are two other reasons I talk about games I don't like:
1) For people to know what they are really getting into when they buy said game.
2) Because I want devs to do better.I love the first TLOU and I wanted the second game to have the same quality as the first. So in the hopes that the third, fourth, fifth, etc. games go back into being quality games, me and the others who feel the same have to speak up so that Sony and Naughty Dog listens.
I think you are wrong. Sony is expanding, not redirecting. Yes, Gaas is part of their expansion. You make it sound like they are abandoning single player and TLOU 2 is the reason why. I think that's absurd.

They're not expanding on single player.
They're planning to invest what, 15 - 20 percent more into single player games by 2025 right?
Cost of AAA single player games is going to skyrocket in that timeframe.
Sony is coasting on single player while the real focus of growth is on GAAS.
What do you mean?Define quality, because it has great sales, amazing gameplay, a gripping and different story on perspective, hate and loss, the most game of the years awarded to a video game to date, and also winning the true game of the year award
This sounds like a you problem, again it has high sales, critical acclaim for awards, the goty award etc if it doesnt appeal to you then its not for you. Much like how we always preach not everything us for everybody when people try to be so inclusive where everyone has to have fun and meaningWhat do you mean?
Quality game is something that's enjoyable, and that's not TLOU 2, which is shite.
How fast can you shake a stick anyway? It didn't drop off the monthly charts faster than you can "shake a stick." That's what I'm proving.
It is indeed loud, but that's because its the majority of gamers that are unhappy with the game.Nah.....I haven't seen people go after any game they didn't like as they have with TLOU 2. Simply put, your opinion is fine, but it is a very loud and vocal minority. Frankly, it seems that minority is hell-bent on outshouting any positive news the game receives. It is bizarre. I've never seen any other game receive the amount of sheer hate that TLOU 2 receives.
They are expanding into multiplayer. Single player isn't going anywhere.
That's what I have been saying?People like you are entitled to have bad opinions like thinking this game is something good and that's fine. There are all sorts of people with all kinds of weird tastes after all. This sounds like a you problem, again it has high sales, critical acclaim for awards, the goty award etc if it doesnt appeal to you then its not for you. Much like how we always preach not everything us for everybody when people try to be so inclusive where everyone has to have fun and meaning
It is indeed loud, but that's because its the majority of gamers that are unhappy with the game.
If it was indeed a minority, the game would have kept it record of being the fastest selling PS game, not falling way behind many if not most of the higher efforts Sony has put out these last few years.
If it was indeed the minority, it wouldn't be common to notice that most of the videos talking about TLOU 2 talks badly about the game.
You guys are living in denial, but the truth is simple: The game was badly received by the fanbase, and casual gamers thought it was at best, a very gourgeous "ok" experience.
and your entitled to your terrible opinion that the game is bad yet cant guve me a reason why and I swear to god if its POLITICS IN MAI GAMESThat's what I have been saying?People like you are entitled to have bad opinions like thinking this game is something good and that's fine. There are all sorts of people with all kinds of weird tastes after all.
Just as me and most people are entitled to think this game is trash.Simple as that.
You can find a youtube video for anything you like that "validades" any point you want to make(which validades nothing actually, since the quality of a product always depends on the perception of a individual, and there is no two individuals that think exactly alike).Nonsense. I can find a YouTube that agrees with me on anything I want. I don't need silly anecdotal and irrelevant evidence. GOTY awards, including Reader's Choice awards for TLOU 2 tell me you are the minority. I get the politics pissed you off, but that is blinding you.

It doesn't mean that's the opinion of the majority, or that the majority of the videos talks positively about it, because it doesn't.
Lol this doesn’t hold a candle to last of us 1 sales. Last of us 1 remaster on ps4 alone sold better. 10 million is great but for the most anticipated game of all time? Cyberpunk level disaster honestly. That also sold way more than 10 million but far below expectations. Pretty sure Ghost sold more than 10. This is never gonna even come close to horizon zero dawn in sales which is just shocking.

These two posts just cancel each other out, lol your being messy now. Back to the bushes for you, wait till part 3 comes out so I can hear you bitch for another two years. Druckmann is living rent free in your headYou can find a youtube video for anything you like that "validades" any point you want to make(which validades nothing actually, since the quality of a product always depends on the perception of a individual, and there is no two individuals that think exactly alike).

Good for you. I personally prefer to watch small channel review, instead your IGN and Gamespot that gives Pokemon a 9 score every freaking year.I agree, but you were the one who brought up YouTube as some kind of evidence, not me. I don't think random Youtube videos are evidence of anything. I think the GOTY reader's choice is all the evidence I need.
