I am undecided what platform to get Ghostwire for though. Dualsense support is great but pc will have better performance although I've seen some complaints.
Think I will wait for some discount. I've seen it 50% on psn few times but I want the disc version

It's half price now on PSN. You meant The Evil Within 2, right? If yes, then you'll love it. Looks super lush on PS5 and it has proper DualSense support.

you almost never hear Digital Foundry criticise controls in their tech reviews, but it seems the controller aiming in Ghostwire is so bad that even Digital Foundry saw the need to at least mention it in the video.

so I'd stay far away from the console version.
the UE4 stutters in this game also seem to be relatively minor

-they introduced paid online (tbh, someone will sooner or later)
-tried to kill pc gaming few times with their gfwl crap
-stopped making good games
-destroeyed gears of war after the trilogy
-destroyed halo...
-Almost done destroying physical media
...and so on so on.

But the worst is gamepass and services. It is devaluing gaming. Making customers except free shit.. so it cannot be too expensive to put on GP. so The games are and will be getting worse and less.
And they buy everything. Monopoly like that is never good

Recently releases suggests so

The big hitters such as Horizon, GOW and Gran Turismo were all announced as cross gen

We still havent got a big name such as those as an exclusive for the PS5

Demons Souls and TLOU are remakes, Returnal a new IP from not one of the big 1st party studios, R&C is not a huge seller ...

I'll believe it when we have an Uncharted or something like that for the PS5

This is partly because console hardware revisions through node shrinks are becoming rarer and rarer, due to ballooning costs of more advanced process nodes.

Otherwise, Sony could have moved the PS5 to the 5nm EUV node and reduced the material costs that way.

If anything, this is an absolute nail in the coffin to the goons who thought a PS5 Pro was anything other than an utter fucking pipedream.

If they're increasing the costs of the base console, do you really think they're gonna launch a Pro model at an even higher, obscene price?... You must be on crack if so.

Past games being cross-gen doesn't mean future games will also be cross-gen. We already know Spider-man 2 will be PS5 exclusive. I expect God of War: R to be the last cross-gen game. Either way, this price increase has no bearing on any of it. Way off, dude.

Just realized you ommited two games from the Sony announced games:

God of War Ragnarok and TLoU Part I.
 
It's not a big deal.The console is bought once so it's not a big deal.In 2 years Sony will reduce the price like they always do probably by 100 dollars or even 150 if it should not sell that well but it will.The PS5 will sell exactly the like it would do at a price of 499.If Sony keep the PS5 longer in the market and reduce it's price every 1-2 years the ps5 will do ps4 numbers easily

This is just as bad for the industry as anything Xbox has done. Phil might be liar, but how is Jimbo any different? The Horizon FW upgrade fiasco's FIX was somehow even worse than his original lie. He removed the cheaper PS4 version from the PS5 store and continued to sell the PS5 physical version at $70 where it sold 70% of the copies. Forcing consumers to buy cheaper PS4 version from the website instead of from the store is simply dishonest.

Taking advantage of your strongest markets like Europe and Asia instead of rewarding them with deals and freebies is just as dishonest. The price of goods doesnt affect the U.S?? Oh right, its because they are being outsold by the Xbox here the last 3 quarters running. So its obvious that the price increase is exploiting the userbase that has stuck with them for almost 30 years. How is that good for the industry?

And yes, Xbox has no next gen games so far but what next gen games has sony released since Ratchet in June of last year? What are they releasing until Spiderman in holiday 2023? 2.5 years with no next gen games? How are they any better? If Phil is a filthy liar then pretending TLOU remake is a built for PS5 game with PS4 graphics is what? the god honest truth?

Whats bad for the industry are individual policies by Sony, MS and Nintendo that exploit their own userbases. They treat them with disdain releasing $60 remasters like Skyward Sword, by shipping digital only consoles with just 350 GB of storage space, by taking advantage of demand in an age where they are making record profits while infaltion affects everyday people who are not making record profits.

Should consumers like a price hike? No

Is Sony unjustified here? No. Inflation costs are impacting the price and they are passing it along to consumers

I fully expect Nintendo to follow suit in some capacity

Microsoft? Let's not pretend they have the same constraints. If it weren't for their monopoly from windows and office, they would not have the ability to do many of the things they do.

Robbing Peter to pay Paul, you turn a blind eye to price gouging and monopolies in their other business lines which allows them to eat higher losses in gaming
