He was an idiot and he died an idiot. Should have gotten a Darwin Award.

It's a bit like scuba diving; I love it and have people freaking the shit out about it. For me it's super safe activity because I make sure to always follow the rules, check my equipment, don't do stupid shit underwater. You need to know your limits and what you can do. Living in wilderness was not one of them for him.
