• Hey Guest. Check out your NeoGAF Wrapped 2025 results here!

Realistically when will get to see Naughty Dogs's factions?

They said more info to come next year. Hopefully it will also release next year.

I'm honestly very much looking forward to this fresh take on TLOU universe as this will most likely have the Part 2 gameplay with new city and new characters.

They said 2023 and I would think, they would want to have it ready to release by the time the HBO show starts to air. But I think 2024 is more realistic.

I think people are underestimating just how big their new standalone multiplayer game is going to be.

I think that's why they didn't include factions into Part 1, because it might appear redundant once next year's game drops.

Really curious about this one. I haven't really enjoyed their depression simulators but factions was always top tier fun.

Is that possible? We know essentially nothing about it. I assumed they were working on it along side TLOU2.

Damn I had no idea it was still that far away. They've shown that one picture of concept art but I thought we'd hear some more about it soon.

I hope Q2-Q3 2023. Also, the game needs to hit PC same time as PS5 version or release very soon after. Also would be great to have cross play.

I have high hopes for this game. Really looking forward to actually see it and find out what this game size is, I'm thinking it's pretty big in map size

I really hope they go all out with this. The original factions was a lot of fun and is a great base for something much larger and more involved.
I'm definitely expecting they will have a battle royale mode as it just fits in the theme of the series anyway but what I'm really hoping for is some large persistent world of some sort that can tie into skirmishes and land/resource control, etc.

They've said in the past, as recently as this year, that the game grew to a much larger scope than initially expected.

I'll link some info, but it's said to continue ND's "cinematic" nature through an entirely new multiplayer experience.

I think it's their next big AAA game and possibly even a GAAS title Sony mentioned in their projections.

Never. I have kind of given up on it.

Next year they will do another remaster or remake. For TLOU part 2 maybe this time.

Just curious, as I would like to look into it more, where are you getting this information?

Edit: If nothing directly refers to the size of the game, what info is being used to infer that it's that big?

I play factions everyday. As a hard-core fan I'm getting the feeling this mp is getting completely remade and likely ruined. It will be good for the fickle masses for a few months and then fizzle.

For the true fans just give us better graphics, gameplay and balance. Leave the rest alone.

Unless the pull off a Division style game with an exclusive mp factions within with better graphics gameplay and balance, which is totally possible (but it'll get fucked up) then I won't be pleased.

I just want to shoot shiv bash and burn people. Leave the pew pew pew stuff for overwatch and Halo.

Been playing this for a decade. And NO we don't want a zombie mode!

I'm here for the outrage when they announce the price ($70/€80).

And some months later I will return for the fresh outrage when it becomes clear that there are micro transactions as well.

Naughty Dog is going to have a **** ton of competition over the next couple of years with Factions.

i dont think sons of the forest should compare to faction. I have a feeling this game is going to be delayed.
Furthermore, the forest is a great game but its still unpolished a bit buggy, the dev totally abandon the fixing, so i dont have high hopes on the sons of the forest.

and the day before is not going to be released or they are going to end up a disappointment , they have alot of issue now.

the difference here is factions actually developed by one of the best studio with man years of experience, funded by Sony.

Of course the day before would be fucked! It was the one game I was looking forward to..

Always the way.

the day before reminds me of star citizen or some chinese upcoming AAA game, looks way too good to be true.

If the devs actually able to release the game without any downgrades, it would be one of the best PC MMO, which we shall see.
Based on the youtube video, the whole production seems pretty shady.

Fractions already have a fanbase, so they'll have the edge over some games out there.

What might hold them back is the PC release date and the price point.
