Releasing games on PC will earn Sony more money which means they will see value in making even more games. Everyone wins.
Tell me you aren't playing PS4 or PS5 without telling meSony hasn't had magic since the Playstation 3.
PS5 had a much faster start than the PS4 imo. The first 2 years shows thisI'm still in the PS4 era.
In terms of first-party "magic", I think they got off to a pretty slow start with the PS5, but will eventually catch up to the levels of the PS4, which had the best FP output of any Sony console in my opinion; be it AAA or AA games, that generation was hit after hit.
All that and you still bought God of War Ragnarok just to play it on a PS5 because there was no PC release day-and-date. That console "magic" aka FOMO got you sucked right back into their ecosystem.I am mainly a PC gamer but that is recently. If Sony didn't turn into a multiplatform, I would have more games on PlayStation including games like COD as I can play with ps players only and avoid cheating as much as possible.
I would have most if not all sony exclusives on my PlayStation but now ? I don't even buy them day one because I know they will come to PC and will be very cheap shortly after.
All I know that Sony lost me as a day one buyer to wait for PC port for cheap.
So I kinda agree with the OP. Sure some games are taking longer to appear on PC. But they will come sooner or later.
With that being said. PS5 is like 500$ man. I am sorry but in today's gaming standard that is not even expensive. Especially if you have a gaming PC where all parts are expensive , makes you wonder how bad is a 500$ console really is.
Like I don't think I can wait for some games like final fantasy 7 remake 2 or final fantasy 16 till the next year If not more just to play them. So In my head I was like fuck it, I'll get the game physical ( used if possible from market place ), finish it quickly and sell it to others and don't lose much if any. And then double dip and own it on PC for cheap for a better ultimate version.
That's what I do these days. Last time I turned on my ps5 was to finish god of war, and hopefully vr2 is nice enough otherwise I'll return it ( especially if I can't connect to PC within the return period ( like mods couldn't get it to work etc )
You could argue that a console is a cheapest way to entry gaming…why the fuck should we show empathy towards someone who can only enjoy games if only THEY and a couple other people who bought the same system are able to play it?
People who actually get their dicks in a knot over this shit are honestly selfish assholes
It's not magic, it was forced exclusiveness. And they still do it time based so assholes like me buy PS5s for exclusives and bitch about their games not being day 1 on PC.For me, PlayStation got this magic notion, thanks to great quality exclusives like Ratchet and Clank, GT, among others.
PlayStation was like an arcade saloon, and if you have ever been to one, you know what I mean by that.
But now, they release one by one, all of its pearls to PC, so why bother, and buy PlayStation 5 if you have gaming PC?
Sure, you can play earlier, but it is not the same anymore.
What do you think?
This is actually a good point too. I recently did some PC shopping and if you want a PC with a modern CPU and a GPU that can rival the PS5 it's at least 1,200$ imo. if not closer to 1,500 if you want some more future proof. You could argue that a console is a cheapest way to entry gaming…
Besides. Nobody is forcing pc gamers to get a console. It's cheaper than any part in good pc lol. Or be patient and the games will come maybe. Eventually
I like having everything in one place. Ideally it was on pc. But in 2017 I was doing some Christmas shopping and there it was. A ps4 slim for 200$ in media markt. This is actually a good point too. I bought a PS5 digital recently at Gamestop for $360+ tax. Now I've got an old gaming pc, xbox, and the PS5.
But that is what I said. I got GOWR for 50$ Cad used and played it. sold it for 50$ Cad used. sometimes you lose 10$ to play the game for 10 days or whatever 1 week to finish a game. I might double dip again when its 15$ on steam for cheap. this is precisely my point when I said Sony lost me a day one customer to bargain bin on PC.All that and you still bought God of War Ragnarok just to play it on a PS5 because there was no PC release day-and-date. Infamous Second Son, First Light, Driveclub, Bloodborne, Tearaway Unfolded, Helldivers, Entwined, Hohokum, CounterSpy and Doki-Doki Universe?Until Dawn
Killzone Shadow Fall

They may have lost you as a day 1 buyer but regardless you still bought into their ecosystem by purchasing the console for said games. If the games went to PC day-and-date to their console release you would still be in their ecosystem because you're purchasing their games for PC, new. Where has the magic gone if we're still experiencing the same 1st party games? But that is what I said. If Sony games were still Playstation exclusive. I wouldn't sell the game I bought ( new or used ) because I know I will not be able to play it on a PC or any other platform.
I forgot those but some of the games you listed also aren't 1st party. I dont think 1st or 3rd matters if it's exclusive though so I'll include themInfamous Second Son, First Light, Driveclub, Bloodborne, Tearaway Unfolded, Helldivers, Entwined, Hohokum, CounterSpy and Doki-Doki Universe?
Also, Kena is not first-party.
During the PS2 era, I had no idea Sony had first-party or second-party titles. I mostly played Resident Evil back then... then I tried the new Prince of Persia game, which I first played on the Xbox (i.e., Sands of Time), and loved it so much that I started looking for other games that might be similar, if not the same, and I discovered God of War [I had no idea it was a first-party Sony title] and found Kratos to be a very different type of character and ended up loving the game. Fast forward to the PS3, I was anticipating the next Assassin's Creed game because it was developed by the same team that created Prince of Persia, and with one week until release, I hear about this game called Uncharted, and I also hear that GameStop is selling it early... I had seen no footage or anything on the game, went to GameStop and bought a copy and fell in love with the Uncharted series.Don't think it matters. Ive always like exclusives because I felt it gave systems an identity and also was designed just for that system. It's why most console exclusives usually look and play the best compared to third party (at least in Sony's case).
I think the way Sony is handling the their games to PC is the best. They still have great exclusives that can drive sales to their console. If those exclusives aren't enough to draw people into dropping 500$ on a console, they can play the games in PC at a later date. Seems like a win for everyone. Sony gets more sales/money and the games reach more people. What is there to hate about this?
if or "when" day one releases happens, I think that could hurt PlayStation much like day one releases hurt the XBOX. I think that's one of the main reasons the Xbox is struggling. It has no identity and it's a glorified PlayStation with less exclusives while Nintendo actually has an identity and even with older and outdated hardware it's still selling really well.
Dualsense works on pc release?Yeah but, returnal on a 4090 OP......
...now that's magic!

I think they'll try to resist the idea for a while, but when they'll attempt this it will the moment they realize "Hey, this shit is far more profitable than trying to rebuild hype for a late port" plus "It doesn't really seem to affect the sales of the console version by much".Sony should release their exclusives on PC day one because the IP's are and will always be far more valuable than any console
Dualsense works on pc release?
Because these rain haptics are magic
It does, but let's be fucking real: the neat stuff on PC will be playing the game with a good gaming mouse.Dualsense works on pc release?

They were funded and published by Sony, though.some of the games you listed also aren't 1st party

I know. Seems like it's way too easy with mouse. My buddy got it for pc and finished the same evening. And it took him 20 hours to finish in my ps5.It does, but let's be fucking real: the neat stuff on PC will be playing the game with a good gaming mouse.
And I say this as someone who uses a dual sense as controller.
Strange. The half pull trigger are essential control methods.Dual sense half works no adaptive triggers
Yep, you have to use L1 + L2 very awkward. weird as well as it was a big part of the gameplay on pS5Strange. The half pull trigger are essential control methods.
My phone largely replaced my laptop.A Pc is an essentia item. A gaming PC...snot. Maybe he should have better said, because your GPU cost more than a PS5.
I can buy a PS5, and buy a $400 `essential` laptop, for under the price of some GPUs. And said GPU is just one of 7 things you need on a PC, and that's not including a controller (since that's optional) and a monitor.
You can probably see that I ate this PC value argument that is often thrown around because it makes no sense to me. People about PCs like a $400 PC can even remotely game like a PS5.
I currently have a PC with a 3080 by the way, and a $500 laptop, where I happen to do 90% of my PC stuff on. Truth be told my desktop PC is more like a HTPC gaming box.. So this is coming from place of me Just know that the PC-to-console value argument is full of crap.
Agree 100%. Rocked that for a decade before building another PC. Still not sure if the PC was warranted thoLaptop/Console combo is what you would probably find in a large majority of homes right now. The need for a desktop PC is dead unless you work in an industry that specifically requires a rig.
It is- Series S can be had for what, $299?You could argue that a console is a cheapest way to entry gaming…

Them achievements don't hit the same way tho.Xbox games on PC makes owing one redundant. The same applies to Sony and its PlayStation.
