"Harry Potter Quidditch Champions" announced!

Obviously the gameplay is what matters most here. I like the art style. It doesn't need to look realistic I mean it is a game about witches and wizards on broomsticks chasing magical flying balls.

I don't mind non-realistic style but it looks offensively modern and generic, both the look of the character and her animations.

Don't like the art style, but I'm down for some Quidditch sports game, with each player controlling a specific team member.

Why on earth wouldn't they have just made this a DLC add-on for Hogwarts Legacy? I hate that artstyle so much...

new game, new theme park, tv show... What is resetera gonna do?

Oh man, Quidditch World Cup was so much fun om PS2. Been waiting for this for a long time...

... now how am I gonna find time to play it? Lol.

Should be interesting to see how many people think they're the main character and go after the snitch every game, and cause their teams to lose repeatedly.

Ew, a live service game. I'd prefer a sequel to Quidditch World Cup that I can play offline or against bots. I can't stand multiplayer where I'm going up against other people
because I suck at video games despite playing them for 25+ years now

I still don't understand the rules of this weird game but I'm fan enough to see how it turns out.

Safe to say it's separate from Hogwarts legacy. I was expecting this to be a dlc and a part of the game.

Clearly they've planned this all along. Inclusion (instead of a stupid explanations as to why it's not in the game) of Quidditch could've made Hogwarts Legacy a bit better game, but instead they ask us to buy another game full of microtransactions they wanted but could't add into Hogwarts Legacy.

The actual rules of Quidditch are nonsensical so I legit wonder how they can make a competitive multiplayer game out of this.

Whatever, I signed up because why the fuck not

Multiplayer game. Maybe this is why it was left out of Hogwarts Legacy?

Another successful boycott hopefully! :messenger_tears_of_joy:

The really hilarious thing are the real life Quiditch organisers and players that renamed the activity to spite her. They're still playing a game she came up with regardless of name change !

If it's like 99% of other MP games that people love like GaaS titles. The "fun" will be logging in every day and scoring 10 pts for griffendor and catching the golden snitch 5 times in windy wildlands arena.

Then you'll get 100 muggleflops to spend on green rarity skins and xp boosts

Ditch the snitch and it's alright. The entire concept of a seeker makes the rest of the rules pointless.
If you're going to ditch the snitch then what's the point at all? lol. That's the most popular role because Harry was a seeker. That's almost like saying Gryffindor shouldn't be a Hogwarts house. It's just silly lol.

Anyway, I do agree that the seeker is a little unbalanced. The shortest Quidditch match was 3.5 seconds and the longest was 3 months!

In the game if they want it to be any fun they need to adjust it. In the Quidditch World Cup game what they done was the snitch would only appear once both teams had got enough possession/passes/goals and the team that has most possession gets more boost speed. Watch this video and you'll get what I mean (skip to 0:57 for the start of the match and 6:43 is when you can catch the snitch):

This shit better be free.
Nah, everyone hates it. They hate it so much they made it into a real game that people actually go outside to play :messenger_unamused:

Anyway why would you want to play it even if it's free because it doesn't sound like you like it at all.

I don't even know anybody who likes Harry Potter. Not one of my friends or family members or anyone I know likes it. Yet, it's extremely popular.

I think it must be an age thing because I don't know many people under 30. That's probably what it is I'm guessing.

The game itself is nonsense from a design perspective because the seeker renders the other positions pointless. Evenly matched teams wouldn't result in a 16 goal lead in a competitive setting like the match in the video. You would expect evenly matched teams to be within 15 goals which means the winner will always be the team who gets the snitch. A player playing the seeker has nothing to do until the snitch appears which would't be much fun either. The snitch works in the books because Quidditch is a plot device designed to give Harry Potter the limelight. It would be awful to play as a competitive game if you don't get to be the seeker.

Ah yes remove any intresting content from hogwarts and leave the game as a quest grind generic third person game so you can sell a quiditch game somewhere else. Should have known this is the reason someone thing felt off
