Hopefully it's worth it. Definitely playing this on XSX or PS5. Waiting to see which one it runs best on.

What about PS5?
Edit: no one knows it seems.

People want next gen games only but don't want to upgrade their pc specs or get surprised when they need more free space for those assets, lmao.

This will be the norm now. Get used to it.

I have to believe that one of these numbers will change come launch day. Who knows, it's just I can't remember another case where the difference in file size was so different.

Thats a massive difference between the two.

Has a Series console game ever been this big of a difference?

It's actually good to see, many of the 3rd parties haven't been doing it as much as MS has. That's a lot of textures though.

This is another one for people that say the 1TB base storage is large enough on the X/PS5.

There are official texture packs on PC around the size of that difference. I can't think of one where the comparisons between Very High and Ultra were profound, but hey, value I guess.

I mean sure, but you're also downloading several gigs of languages that you'll never hear. Look how small you can get selective repacks down to now.

Language packs alone wouldn't comprise the nearly 100 GB difference between S and X. Clearly there is some VERY liberal usage of 4K assets going on here.

Either that or the game has a lot of video files masking as cut-scenes and they're encoded in 4K on the SX (and PS5 likely) which takes up that much more space versus 1080p encodes on Series S.

Oh for sure. Either lots of high quality assets or some insane bitrate prerendered videos.

I think this is going to be interesting release for series s. We might finally find out if there is any concern for lack of ram on s.

Fucking finally some devs are using Series S profile to get rid of 4K textures for Series S.
Wish more studios were doing that. I know that Sea of Thieves is smaller in size on Series S and from beta it looks like Diablo IV will also be way smaller on console. But it's really pathetic that even many XGS are not using that feature (looking at you Playground Games)
