Catching Fire was great. the rest were middling to me with number 1 being the best out of those other 3. I'll wait for reviews at least before anything else.

Pfffff, the books are campy shit but for some reason I enjoyed them, they are easy to read and go by fast. Same with HP books, I think people are underestimating the importance of a nice flow to the book.

The problem I have with these films is the disconnect between the subject matter and what we're actually shown on screen.

A PG-13 movie about children murdering each other for tribute is just...........awkward.

The books started out nice and then became a total joke with no traces of reality.

It would have been more interesting to do a prequel on the war or whatever that caused that world.

Sadly movie/TV studios like nothing more than well known IP, can't blame them though as it's what audiences seem to want.
But yeah, doing stuff like this or Harry Potter again feels like a waste when there's still so many books in need of a good adaptations.

Took a look at the trailer and enjoyed it, they aren't helping themselves by having no known stars and in theaters really changes things, it's going to be a rental for me.

Never watched Battle Royale, but I love the manga

So much so that I even bought the whole collections despite being very rare to find here in Brazil

I always hated Hunger Games because it was such a blatant copy of BR

At least if they're going to do this, they did it in a decently smart way: Hire enough well-liked actors so that there can be a draw of some kind. Like others I was feeling pretty done by the end of the second movie.
