Eurogamer why our Starfield: review will be late (DF unaffected and will be on time)

That's a starting ship from Everspace 2, isn't it?

Eurogamer are disingenuous hacks... so this doesn't phase me.

Journos... stop suckling at the teat of publishers, then crying when you don't get special treatment. Eliminate the conflict of interest and then maybe gamers will start taking ya'll seriously again.

So why did PureXbox UK not receive a code either?

Maybe they could take some pics with Sony execs if they bothered to fucking show up to an industry convention.

There is a difference between not getting a code, and getting a code and being told only digital foundry can use it out of your entire business. Surely you can see that?

fun fact, the same person at Xbox Era that gave Redfall an 8.5 is the one that gave Armored Core VI a 6.5

I mean I'd find it hard to believe you guys have lower metrics than some of the Twitter troll/fanboys that for some reason got early codes 🤷🏼‍♂️ or Xbox Era…

just seems like they're being selective and definitely giving preferential treatment to 'reviewers' that they know will follow the "you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours" approach

I agree that review code should definitely have been provided to Eurogamer, Edge, SkillUP and Metro. These are MC/OC mainstays and many are respected voices in the industry. Bethesda is notoriously petty but MS needs to put a stop to this.

That said, it does seem like you're weaving a hilarious narrative from this about paid reviews 😀

How can anyone take these guys seriously? Where are these pics with Sony execs?

DF now needs to take photos with Nintendo and Sony execs before we take them serious 🤡

Phils balls are going in deeper and deeper. So obvious. And I thought only some Gaffers were gagging in them.

Really bizarre and embarrassing behaviour in here.

Some guys even fantasising that this was MS 'revenge' against the CMA. Yeah that makes sense, with the CMA being the parent company of Edge magazine.

Sorry guys, you'll have to come up with a new fantasy where all your favourite brands enemies are being vanquished.

That they receive a code now two days after the analysis because they have complained on twitter does not mean that the intentions of Xbox and Bethesda were to veto them, that of giving a code to Eurogamer but only DF can use it is very dirty.

Put me on your ignore list. You're extremely childish and an embarrassment to the forum.

And they've still had their review delayed and thusly disadvantaged by this.
Buy a mirror to see who is the true embarrassment. You come across like a hostile lunatic in most of your post constantly trying to stir the pot when it's obvious nobody wants to engage with you.

And to cheer on their favorite giant corporation.

What is the reason the very "fair and respected" Eurogamer did not review a highly anticipated AAA game this year? These outlets are embarrassing for the video game industry

Karma is a bitch huh, Eurogamer?

Look at their crying and whining in that article, and all their simp supporters in the comments bigging them up for their 'stance'. You can tell who they are, because all the other comments are being removed, as per their usual 'no free speech unless you agree with us' policy.

The fact DF still got a copy is even funnier.

I cannot stand the sanctimonious cunts on that site, so this news makes me happy. 👍😀

Not sure if a reason, but Eurogamer Metacritic scores for some of the best games this year don't really align with the industry consensus:

Tears of the Kingdom: 80/100
Baldurs Gate 3: 80/100

Probably be better if they switched to a 10 scale scoring system.

Lol what corrupt about sidelining hacks who lower you scores based on social beliefs?
Starfield is not the game that will be dinged for not being woke. what are you going on about? We all know why eurogamer and edge werent sent copies. they are the only publications who are still harsh on games.

People hate eurogamer's woke writers so much they are willing to let slide corrupt industry practices. Go figure.
I think Eurogamer tend to be contrarian edgelords with their reviews, but DF are a part of them too which makes it kind of weird. Still, they should have access to Starfield if they have posted reviews for other games.

Sorry, so what you want is *more* conformity of opinion? Really?

Eurogamer will find a way. Have you not seen how they reacted when they saw magic brooms and robes?

2 possible outcomes from this -

1. The game isnt woke and has stuff in the game that would make woke outlets cry over the game (so a good outcome).

2. This probably means a 90+ score is a goner, especially as these outlets are probably 'offended' over not getting a code.

Why didn't Pure Xbox, another UK based outlet, get one ?

I think it's pretty clear this is a UK specific issue, even Metro points it out.

What makes this situation strange though is that most US sites do seem to have review copies and it is specifically the UK that has been denied them. No explanation has been given as to why.
